Le Marronnier is a top quality rental property with amazing features, fully equipped and beautifully furnished. This beautiful barn conversion and adjacent cottage can sleep a total of 12 people with 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. Situated at the back of a tiny hamlet in its own grounds the Marronnier is in a peaceful setting with plenty of space for everyone.
The property is well furnished with quality bedding and linen. A top quality rental with fully fitted kitchen, spacious accommodation, family friendly with plenty of outside seating, garden with large terrace for outside dining and barbecuing.
The main house has 4 bedrooms and the cottage accommodation is a beautiful self-contained spacious 2 bedroom property just a few steps across the courtyard. It is very popular with couples or people wishing for a little more independence from the main group.
Outside, the property is surrounded by its own grounds with plenty of space for children to run around. The large patio at the back of the main house has 2 seating areas and easy access straight onto the lawned garden and the meadow. The walled garden has the salt water swimming pool which on the top side is surrounded by lavender plants, a metal gazebo for shade, 7 raised beds with plants and vegetables growing for you to pick. The swimming pool is heated from May to September.
There are plenty of sunloungers, additional tables and chairs around the grounds for you to sit back and relax. On the main terrace there are 2 gazebos offering plenty of shade for al fresco dining.
An ideal base for sightseeing with lots of tourist attractions nearby, restaurants, chateaux, caves, and local markets.
**Please note: Prices quoted are for up to 2 people renting the main house. There is an additional £15 per person per night and £20pppn during July and August. The price includes bed linen, towels, tea-towels, electricity, gas and water. All payment can be made via online banking or Paypal.
A change over charge of 80€ is payable on arrival for the end of stay turn around for groups of 8 people and 120€ for groups of 8 plus, using both properties. There is a winter heating charge payable during the winter months.

Conditions: this is strictly a non smoking property. A 30% deposit is payable to secure your booking, with the balance payable 8 weeks before the start of your holiday along with a security deposit of £350.

French farmhouse fitted kitchen, fully equipped with large range stove, Rayburn wood burning cooker, dishwasher, microwave, plenty of cooking pots, pans, utensils and gadgets.
Forty-two inch flat screen tv with satellite English channels and a huge choice of dvd's also available plus wi-fi is available.
There are 6 bedrooms in total, the main house has 2 doubles both en suite, 1 with a four-poster bed and 2 twin bedrooms. The Cottage has a double and twin bedroom.
Four bathrooms in the main house, 2 en suite, 1 with a roll top bath and 1 with a shower. The main bathroom is a corner bath with overhead shower and on the ground floor a good size shower room with wc.
Woodburner plus under floor heating throughout the entire property.
A salt water swimming pool, mountain bikes, badminton, boules, trampoline, swing set, books and huge dvd selection.
Outside you will find tables and chairs for alfresco dining plus 2 barbecues, 1 gas and the other charcoal. There are 3 large gazabos offering shade.
Plenty of space for parking vehicles.
There is no ground floor bedroom, but a good sturdy solid oak staircase for easy access to the first floor.
We are near to lots of local tourist attractions and amenities. I have lots of leaflets and advice available to all of my guests.
There is also the possibility of babysitting.

Countryside lovers will appreciate the peace and tranquility this area offers. Local rivers to picnic next to, châteaux to visit, restaurants to savour the gourmet delights this regions is reknown for, famous caves to visit, markets to discover, the list goes on. Nearer to home there are a vast array of tracks and trail straight from the doorstep ideal for walkers, runners and mountain bikers.
Brantome, named the Venice of the Perigord, is a must. Hire a canoe and paddle sedately round Brantome, or make a day of it and paddle down to the next wonderful village of Bourdeilles, with its impressive chateau towering above you when you arrive. Pop into the one of the local bars or tea rooms or enjoy a "menu du jour" in either of these villages set beside the wonderful river surroundings. Whilst in Bourdeuilles spot the boat shaped house that straddles the river, with its flowers overflowing from the house, it is one of those "camera must moments".
The Dordogne region of France offers a wealth of interesting places to visit and see. The Marronnier is situated in truffle country, with acres of wonderful oak forests. The Perigord truffles are world famous, know as black gold! One of the oak trees at Marronnier yielded 60kg of truffles in days gone past. With stories of truffles being taken to the local markets by horse and trap my neighbour recounts endless stories of past history. With many tracks and little chemins you can take in the wild life on walks and cycle rides round he countryside. Just exit the drive and away you go exploring. Take a walk or bike ride to the local cheese farm and purchase freshly made cheese from a local producer. Markets are a plenty with the choice of several market towns to choose from. Get your fresh fruit, vegetables, chicken, cheese, bread and meats. They are a real delight to visit, a feast for all the senses!
Golf lovers will be pleased to hear that the Perigueux 18 hole course is just 30 minute drive away and a 9 hole at nearby Excideuil.
Perigueux is the capital of the Dordogne, this historic city is well worth a visit. Wander round the old medieval streets, sit and eat at one of the many restaurants and take in the atmosphere. Just 25 minute drive from Le Marronnier, Perigueux is easily accessible. The little village of Coulaures with its half church and wonderful stone bridge over the river takes you back in time. The small boulangerie offers a traditional artisan bread and patisseries and the local shop has plenty of basics in stock.
There are a wealth of local tourist attractions nearby, including famous caves, chateaux, truffle museum, nearby Sorges and Brantome the Venice of the Perigiord is a must. I have plenty of brochures and leaflets at the property of places to explore
Sorges, the Truffle capital of the Perigord, is only 15 min drive away. Visit the new truffle museum and maybe treat yourself to lunch or dinner at the Auberge de le Truffe - a gastonomic delight !
