Stunning Chateau and Guest Houses set in 10 Acres. This chateau is in a rural setting.

Chateau La Gauterie was built in 1820 and is set in 10 acres of beautiful parkland.
It is situated on the Dordogne/Charente border, 10 minutes from the market town of Riberac. There are airports at Bordeaux (1hr 40 minutes) and Bergerac (1hr) and you can get the TGV at Angouleme (40 minutes).
The Chateau is located on the edge of a small hamlet but only a mile from the nearest village where you can find a small local shop, boulangerie, post office, tabac, doctor, pharmacie, a couple of bars and a restaurant. Within a short drive there are several river beaches or lakes and the nearest beach is 1hr 40mins.
The Chateau has a spacious entrance hall. The large main salon has 2 double doors leading to a large, semi circular, south facing terrace with spectacular views of the park. There is also a smaller secondary salon, dining room, cloakroom, kitchen and tv room.
The grand sweeping staircase leads to the first floor. There are 5 bedrooms on this floor, of which 4 are en suite and the 5th has a wc. And a further 5 bedrooms on the second floor.
All bedrooms are large enough to accommodate a cot and all except bedroom 1 could hold an extra bed.
On the lower ground floor there is a large kitchen and laundry room.
Adjacent to the Chateau is the beautiful Gatehouse which has been transformed into 2 properties.
The properties share an entrance porch. La Taupinière (The Molehill) Located on the first floor and comprises of a spacious open plan living room/kitchen with fabulous beamed high ceilings, well equipped kitchen and a dining table. The double bedroom is a good size and there is a separate bathroom and wc. There is space for two extra single beds in the living room. La Porterie (The Gatehouse) A spacious three bedroom property (2 doubles and 1 twin) on two floors with a private patio. Good size living/dining room and separate well equipped modern kitchen. The bathroom has a supersize shower and wc and there is a separate wc on the ground floor.
The grounds are completely enclosed. From the main gate there is a lemon shaped drive up to the chateau. There is a large pond and impressive bamboo forest and a fantastic array of different trees including very old Cedars of Lebanon. The huge pool is also fully enclosed with a lockable gate. There are plenty of sunbeds and shade. There is also a brick bbq, unheated shower and wc cubicle. The large L-shaped pool has a shallow end with a depth of 0.75m accessible by steps and then slopes down to 3m which can be accessed by hanging stairs or off the diving board. The pool can be lit up at night for night time swimming. It can also be heated at an extra cost.

Five large bedrooms in the chateau have en suites and the sixth bedroom has a wc cubicle.
