A short distance from Périgueux, set in the peaceful countryside situated on a hill, this 19th century detached holiday property offers a relaxing atmosphere with a private swimming pool over-looking the fields of sheep. With woods all around ideal for walks and situated at the top of the valley of Beauronne, which is known for the mils. With a beautyful terrace by the swimming pool, the living room as well as the kitchen both open onto the terrace, this ideal for eating outside.
Les Combes is less than 2Km to the village with small shops, including two small grocery shops, bakery, chemist, newsagent, cafe, bar, pizzeria and restaurant.
Brantome, known as the Venise of Périgord is only 15mn drive, with a large open market daily. Many caves can be visited such as Villars and Lascaux.
The Dordogne is very well known for canoeing.
Large variety of attraction nearby.
Beautiful large kitchen with all mod cons.
Comfortable and spacious living room with a bar, tv with uk channels and dvd player.
2 double bedrooms
1 bedroom with bunkbeds
Flatscreen tv and wifi, UK channels
Terrace with seating and a lovely view and private pool. BBQ
Plenty of parking in an enclosed courtyard

Nearby at Brantome and Bourdeilles. Further afield at Les Eyzies on the Vezere.
The Grottes de Villars is very close by. Really extraordinary limestone caves with genuine 18,000 year old cave paintings in the final cave (unlike the Lascaux ones, which are copies).
Puyguilhem and Jumilhac le Grand
A little further along the same river as Brantome, this village has a spectacular twin chateau built on cliffs overlooking the river, together with a charming square surrounded by restaurants and bars.
Known as the Venice of the Perigord, this small town is a beautiful place to stroll around, especially on market day which is Friday. Canoes can also be hired to allow you to view the town from the river.
The city centre is a warren of narrow medieval streets bustling with restaurants and cafes, as well as clothes shops and some very fine chocolatiers.
Officially one of the prettiest villages in France
There is a nice track behind the house which leads off into the countryside. There are also a number of waymarked walks in the area (called 'randonnees').
Beautifully renovated, spacious farmhouse with handmade wooden furniture which made it feel really homely.
The pool is stunning and the setting wonderful, overlooking fields and farmland.
Some of our best times were those spent in the pool and sitting on the verandah drinking in the view.
Although we speak minimal French and the owners minimal English, we managed to communicat effectively via phone using google translate! The owners were very kind and attentive, responding quickly to any requests we made.
The area is fairly remote and we spent quite a bit of time travelling to our usual haunts : St Cyprien, Audrix, Domme and Limeuil.
Overall a wonderful place to stay!
