About this property

Dordogne Luxury Village House Garden/Terrace . This cottage/gite is in a village setting.

A newly restored, fabulous 2 bedroomed family house, set in the medieval heart of a French village. The village is very beautiful (with a Chateau at its centre), all amenities are close by, including one of the finest boulangeries in the area.
The house is exquisitely furnished by its Interior Designer owners, using French antiques, with modern high quality, kitchen, wcs and shower, bedding/towels, food basics, and cleaning products included within the price.
One bedroom has 2 single beds and a tiny balcony with rooftop views, the other (double bedded room), has views of an ancient chateau.
The large (28m²) sitting room, has comfortable seating, lovely decor, a selection of books and games are provided for your use. Our kitchen is newly equipped with everything you need to prepare delicious meals from local produce.
The outdoor areas are: a 21m² securely railed terrace, the perfect place to watch the sun set whilst sipping a glass of wine.
There is also a sunny grassed and flower bedded garden section, and a shady gravel patio. The whole garden is walled, and although not huge (35m²), has plenty of room for enjoying the outdoor life, that summer in this part of France offers. (Please note the short single flight of steps to the terrace has no handrail, so small children would need supervision on them).
The Dordogne is quite simply one of the most beautiful places in France, it's been our home for 15 years, and we can advise on many trips, activities, restaurants, river beaches, and beautiful towns to visit.
2 kilometres from the house, we own a glorious piece of woodland, our clients are welcome to use this, for walks, picnics, and for children to play and explore.
We will consider changeovers for any days (not just weekends), so please contact us with you requirements.
Day of departure, depart before 11 am.

We can be more flexible with arrival and departure times only when we don't have back to back bookings.

We had a great time. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed. We especially enjoyed sitting on the terras for breakfast, tea, pre-supper drinks and supper and reading our books.
Suzy and Steve were great hosts and the country side is amazing.
We visited many lovely villages and towns and had a great lunch and dinner in Coutures at the restaurant Le Petit Coutures.
We would recommend this property.

We decided to travel to France as our first overseas family holiday and we couldn't have hoped for a better place to stay. Suzy and Steve were at the property to greet us and took time to show us around the house and tell us of local attraction our two children would be interested in. (6 yo and 18 months)

The property is beautifully designed but still child friendly.

The village though small has an excellent butcher, baker/patisserie, a pharmacy and a very friendly general stores.

There were many highlights including a trip to the swimming lake at La Jemaye, there is also a pleasant walk to the ancient windmill at the edge of the village where you will be greeted by many of the local butterflies.

This is a beautiful property set in a typically French village free from tourism. If you want to immerse yourself in rural French culture and experience Dordogne village life then this is it. There are several shops and a good restaurant that we used regularly. We used our location as a base for seeing the sights of Perigord. The property is very well appointed with French antiques and has everything you'll require for a comfortable stay. Our hosts Suzy and Stephen were welcoming and hospitable and were there to offer information and advice if we needed it. We had a marvellous holiday and hope to return in the future.

Owner response

It was lovely having you stay at the house ,thank you for leaving it in such a pristine state. We were particularly impressed by your brocanting prowess!!.
Local amenities ,It can be quiet around here in April, so come back in summer when all the restaurants and bars are open and there is a fete every weekend locally ( many brocantes !!) , we will share another bottle of wine .

A delightful small village centre cottage in beautiful condition. The furnishings and facilities are all excellent and it was spotlessly clean. The owners could not be more welcoming or helpful. The village is about 30 mins from Perigueux and similar for Brantome, and has all the basics.
We loved our time there and would recommend instantly to any other couple looking

Owner response
