The Owner Recommends

Beynac Castle

30 kms
The Beynac Castle is not to be missed. This castle is strategically placed so that the occupants may keep an eye on the English in the Castelnaud Castle on the opposite side of the river during the 100 years war.

Sarlat la Caneda

Visit this typical medieval village and all it has to offer in particularly on a Wednesday and Saturday when they have the best market!!

Visit Limeuil

This quaint village is only 7 kms from The French Country Cottage. Put your walking shoes on and take the time to climb to the top and enjoy the beautiful view of the Dordogne river below.
At the bottom is our favourite spot - we love to sit with a beautiful glass of Bergerac wine and enjoy the view of the two rivers (The Dordogne and the Vezere Rivers) come together and continue as one river the Dordogne.
The geese and the ducks float down the river along with the visitors in their floaties
