We were both born in Leicester, England. We met in 1976, when Paul was a graphic designer, Philippa was a secretary. We moved to Leeds for Paul's work, Philippa trained and qualified as a nurse. We have two married daughters, Charlotte and Nicola. In 2008 we took a gap-year to go travelling. In 2009 we worked as couriers for Eurocamp on Elba. We did the same job in 2010 on a campsite in the Dordogne and found our property, quite by chance, on the internet. Time for a new chapter in our lives!

|Why this location?||During our family holidays in the Dordogne we loved the area so much we said we would love to live and work here. We never dreamed that it would become a reality.
There is spectacular scenery around every corner. The colour of the stone buildings is warm and sunny. There are so many places to visit and things to do that it will keep you busy, or entertained, for as long as you like.
Castles, such as Beynac on the side of the Dordogne river. Chateaux, such as Castelnaud and de Losse. Caves with the original cave paintings, such as Font de Gaume, or the world famous Roque Saint Christophe opposite our property, where cavemen lived. Gardens, such as Marqueyssac which has panoramic views across the Dordogne river and valley.
Go canoeing, walking, cycling, bird watching or just sit and relax. Enjoy a quiet picnic, wander around the beautiful villages, visit the fabulous markets.
Restaurants galore where you can eat delicious duck meals.|
|Unique benefits of property||Our property consists of one large 6 bedroom house, one large gite (Tobacco Barn) with three bedrooms and three smaller gites (Haybarn, Roque Terrace and Walnut Store) each with one bedroom. One of the unique aspects of our properties is that all our bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms.
The house can be rented on its own or in combination with one or more of the smaller gites, giving our property the flexibility to suit a couple, a family or a large group.
With two swimming pools and plenty of outdoor space, patios and terraces for outside eating, you can enjoy the sun from morning till night.
When the house is rented on its own, it has its own private gardens, pool and space. The four smaller gites are separate with their own swimming pool.
The Walnut Store and Roque Terrace are suitable for people who use a wheelchair and for those with impaired mobility. They each have a lovely, large, wet-room style shower room.
Paul and Philippa live on site so are always on hand to help.|
Set on a plateau overlooking the Dordogne river and valley, these gardens are a great place to visit for gardeners and the whole family. Children will love running through the parkland and playing in the play areas. During the summer there are candlelit evenings with music; take a picnic and enjoy a new experience. www.marqueyssac.com
Beautiful gardens with views. A lovely visit for people who are gardeners. www.eyrignac.co.uk
Based in Montignac, this is the site of the cave paintings discovered 70 years ago by a group of young boys. Lascaux 4 will open in the autumn of 2016
Situated just across the valley from our property. Excellent for all the family. Pre-history at its best.
One of Frances' top 100 villages. Beautiful, calm, quaint, set at the side of the river Vezere. Sit and watch the canoes go past while you enjoy a beer, glass of wine or a picnic lunch.
