|Why this location?||The area is very tranquil and possesses so much natural beauty, yet the location in a hamlet is not isolated and larger towns are readily accessible. We are close to a picturesque canal and river and you can readily go out for a walk or cycle ride. Marie goes out on long walks in the area, some for up to 5 hours and rarely sees anyone whilst out. There are super opportunities to eat out in traditionally French rustic style or for more formal dining and we have many recommendations to offer having personally sampled those we consider to be the best.
We will be on hand to offer advice or answer questions, but will remain discreet unless called upon.
|Unique benefits of property||You can choose from a range of delicious freshly cooked meals and a range of classic home baking that can be delivered direct to the cottage at a time of your choice.

There are numerous opportunities for days out, almost too many to list. We have an information folder here that can help you decide. To mention some, Lac Jemaye, 25 minute drive, Bordeaux, under 2 hours as is the coast at Royan. Brantome a most beautiful town with the river running through it; popular for canoeing and Bourdeilles chateau etc. Riberac Friday market or Chalais on Mondays. Aubeterre, 10 mins drive, one of Frances most beautiful villages, eat and drink in the square and browse the shops.

We really liked this quirky country cottage and appreciated the rural setting. The cottage was comfortable with good outside space - the only trouble for us was that it was unusual weather for the area and time of year. Unfortunately it rained and it was cool.
The hosts were very welcoming and extremely helpful when we needed some urgent help. We also appreciated the warm welcome to their garden bar for farewell drinks and their cheery wave on the daily walk with their dogs.
It was essential to have a car and there were some nice local places to visit - Aubeterre was lovely
We wouldn't recommend the local restaurant at St Paul Lizonne, our meal was poor and expensive but this may change - take local recomendations when you go.
Thanks to Neil and Marie!
