About this property

Luxury Villa, Bergerac 20 mins, Vigiers Golf. This villa is in a rural setting.

La Grange is a fantastic family friendly holiday farmhouse villa that caters for all sizes of groups from a couple on a romantic break up to 8 adults and 2 children plus infants in 2 cots. Whatever type of holiday you are looking for, this very well equipped villa has something for all ages and interests with extensive golf equipment, infant facilities and a range of bikes for all ages.

The farmhouse is located at the end of a 200 metre lane which means it is very peaceful and safe for children. It is situated in a beautiful, peaceful part of the Dordogne, close to Bergerac and surrounded by vineyards, plum orchards and woodlands, perfect for a relaxing holiday. La Grange overlooks Chateau Vigiers Golf course with a Michelin Star restaurant and spa. Our guests receive a generous reduction on golf rounds and beauty treatments.

The villa is easy to reach by either driving or flying. It is an easy 6 hour drive from St Malo or Caen and only 20 minutes from Bergerac airport or 90 minutes from Bordeaux airport.

La Grange has a stunning heated pool with super views. The pool has the sun all day and is also a wonderful place to enjoy the sun sets. There are plenty of sun loungers under large sun shades. For pool side dining guests have the choice of a huge Kettler dining table with lots of chairs as well as a smaller Kettler table and chairs next to the glass balastrade.
The pool also benefits from a retractable cover which is very easy to use. It has the benefit of keeping the water as warm as possible meaning guests can swim in any weather conditions and at night.
Visiting families with younger children will enjoy the Wendy House, sand pit and Little Tikes play area which we will place here for their arrival. There are lovely views from the pool terrace over the Lower Garden and also across woodlands and the golf course. The pool is open and warm from Easter until mid November and the heating is always set at 28 degrees c.

All four bedrooms are en suite and have air conditioning. Air conditioning is essential for a good nights sleep in the warmer months and La Grange is one of very few Dordogne holiday villas to have this. The bedrooms also have hairdryers, tea and coffee facilities, luxury Bedeck bedding and towels including pool towels, flat screen tvs.

There are two ground floor bedrooms;
The Lavender Suite has beautiful views and direct access to the large balcony which has a glass balustrade so as not to interrupt the lovely views. It also has views over the pool area with an en suite shower room, a super king bed with memory foam mattress and a relaxing sofa which can convert to a single bed
The Yellow Suite has a large en suite bathroom with original cast iron bath and a super king bed which can convert to twin beds if required.

There are two first floor bedrooms, both with views over the countryside;
The Rose Suite has an en suite shower room, a super king bed and a relaxing sofa which can convert to a single bed
The Green Suite has an en suite shower room, and a choice of a super king bed or twin beds.

En Suite Bathrooms:
The four en suites have oak fittings, large walk in showers, Grohe appliances, shaver mirrors and sockets, heated towel radiators. Guests receive two bath towels plus a pool towel free of charge.

Garden and Grounds:
La Grange has extensive grounds to enjoy with space for everyone. Lots of thought has gone into proving several areas for guests to sit and relax in.

The Upper Garden is a one acre super space with the pool area, the circular driveway and a huge garden with a super size trampoline. There is a seating area at the far end of this garden with views over the golf course.

There are wide steps down to the large Lower Garden which has stunning views along the valley and Vigiers golf course. This is a very beautiful area with a seating area around a covered well for dining and sun downers. Relax with a book in the two swinging hammocks or enjoy a game of table tennis here too.

You can also reach the Lower Garden by taking a stroll down the little lane and then following a grassy path alongside the golf course. Dog owners particularly enjoy this walk as well as families with young children who wish to enjoy a stroll.

What a fabulous place. Set in beautiful French countryside, tranquil and full of rural charm. The house is absolutely amazing with a vaulted ceiling and a massive communal area. Many an hour was spent around the 2 log fires, pool table and the kitchen table that could have seated a small army. The swimming pool is very well thought through, with a sliding cover about 3ft over the water, so even if you were to visit out of season you can all jump in and the pool is kept warm. There is even a sauna and gym should you feel so inclined. When you then delve deeper into the house, there are lots of beautifully made up rooms, retaining their rustic charm, yet combined with all the modern luxuries you could want for. The beds are fantastically comfortable and the bathrooms with their roll-top baths and power showers are a great way to unwind after a long day of walks, biking or relaxing on the terrace or in the enormous garden. It is often the case in other such places that details such as the kitchen are lost. Not at all here - all the important bits such as kitchen knives that are actually sharp, ample cutlery, cooking implements, coffee machines, crockery and of course wine glasses are all there in abundance, fully thought through for large groups and families to be more than comfortable. And if cooking isn’t your thing, then there are various restaurants and eateries just a walk or a bike ride away. An absolute 10/10 and we shall definitely be back. Thank you Tracey & Adrian

Outstanding villa. Luxury means luxury here - and we know from ten years’ experience renting in this part of France that this isn’t always the case.

It is a well-thought out villa and all the equipment is good quality/premium brands. No corners have been cut here and the investment shows.

The team are highly professional, available and so helpful.

We loved it. It would suit groups of couples and families with children. You do need a car to enjoy the local bastide towns, markets, chateaux, vineyards and some great restaurants.

This was our 2nd stay at Acabanes and we would love to think we will visit again in the future. There is nothing to fault . The service from Tracey is second to none and anything she can do to help make your holiday great is provided for. The setting, facilities, decor, amenities, location are all of very high standard and we can’t even make suggestions as how to improve on anything. Thanks Tracey!

Owner response

This property was truly marvellous. Travelling with young children can be difficult, you never pack as much as you need. Staying at Acabanes you needn't worry. They simply thought of everything.

Adults were also well catered for , with comfortable beds and lovely baths and plenty of space if sharing with friends!

The location couldn’t be better , reasonably close to the airport, making that post flight journey effortless.

The house was in a very peaceful location with a delightful plum tree ripe for picking!

I highly recommend this house, the attention to detail is second to none. Tracey has provided a wonderful setting for a magical family holiday, it was a pleasure to stay and oh so difficult to

We now must plan a return!!

Owner response

That’s so wonderful that you loved your holiday at Acabanes and yes please do return very soon!
