|Year property purchased||2012|
|Why this location?||Our family love the woodland walks right on the doorstep, and the number of lakes and rivers in close proximity for swimming and fishing. We are only fifty minutes from the airport at Limoges, and we have the whole of the Perigord right here within easy reach.|
|Unique benefits of property||This property has the benefit of a location away from passing traffic, yet is only a fifteen minute walk through the woods for the croissants. There are thick stone walls and a stone floor to keep you cool in the summer, and a terrace where you can sit and relax with the odd glass of something nice. <br/>There is a secluded swimming pool with a stone sun logia for those who may wish to avoid the sun, yet still enjoy the lovely view.|
Lovely Local Swimming Lakes & Beaches, at St Saud, and St Estephe. The Villars Caves. A trip to Brantome. The Piegut Market Canoeing at Brantome. Horseriding in Nontron. Donkey trecking locally. Gastronomy in our local village!
We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week stay at Le Moulin. The Villa was spacious and modern and as described in the advert. It was a huge bonus to be able to watch English TV as the Olympics were on. It was fully equipped for our needs. The area is idyllic for a peaceful holiday. The local village has a bread shop and a restaurant which we enjoyed a couple of meals at. There are walks or cycle routes straight from the front door into woods and past lakes.
We went to a couple of local lakes where there were sandy beaches and free use of the canoes. We also enjoyed an afternoon of archery at one, and a leisurely walk around the 3km lake.
There are plenty of activities to do during a 2 week stay. Canoeing down the river Dronne, visiting a chateaux, or local markets, but for lazy days at the villa it was great to have the pool to jump into when the weather hit the 30's, and the lovely shaded barn was ideal for many games of darts.
The owner was generally onsite if there were any problems, and couldn't have been more helpful.
We would highly recommend this property to others and would love to return ourselves.
We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at le Moulin.The accommodation was extremely comfortable with high quality fixtures and fittings.The provision of filtered chilled water/ ice from the fridge a real bonus.Also the provision of weekly linen was really appreciated , as not always available in gites.
The splash pool was also welcome to cool down in the summer heat.
The area is extremely picturesque with many interesting places to visit with Brantome, Perigeaux and Oradour sur Glann a must.
Also the lake beaches nearby were a real bonus.."seaside away from the shore". The facilities at St Estephe were particularly impressive.
We would recommend the fire and the area for a really enjoyable holiday.
