Spacious Converted Barn In Tranquil Setting. This cottage/gite is in a village setting.

Recently renovated barn with sweeping country views situated in a peaceful hamlet, gardens and patio areas to front and rear opening onto large orchard.
Pretty village of Allemans close by with a bar/restaurant.
The riverside beach of Aubeterre is 10 mins drive where there are plenty of pavement cafes and historical interests.
River beaches of St Aulaye and Lac Jemaye 20 - 30 minutes away by car.
Also the lovely town Perigueux approximately 30 minutes by car.
The first floor is a large open plan lounge/dining room area with tv and woodburner.
Fitted kitchen includes fridge, electric cooker, washing machine.
Open stairs to second floor, large double bedroom with king size bed, twin bedded room with wash basin and family bathroom with bath and walk-in shower.
English TV, linen, tea towels and towels provided.
There are two barns on this site. AD001654 is a 3 bedroom barn and both barns can be booked together for a large family or separately, a reduction is made for fortnightly or long term lettings or for booking both barns together.
Only one barn is let at a time (unless a family wishes to rent both barns) so our guests have the open spaces to themsleves.

Fitted kitchen, fridge, washing machine, electric cooker, toaster. Kitchen opens onto dining room which seats 6 - 8 people.
French doors from the dining room open onto small eating area with steps up to garden and large orchard, with more seating and beautiful views over the countryside

Open lounge area off dining room with patio doors to the front with a gravelled seating area. English tv and a good selection of reading material!


Double bedroom at the front of the barn with king size bed and twin bedded room at the back with basin and views over the countryside.


Family bathroom - toilet, bath, basin and walk-in shower.
Towels provided.


Wood burning stove and stand alone heater.


The village of Allemans is a short distance away and restaurant/ bar provides good food, musical evenings and sometimes BBQ's
There also plenty of bars in Riberac and Verteillac.
Riberac Friday market is a must.

Garden and outside

Plenty of garden space - gravelled areas at the front and grass areas at the rear.
Large orchard for kids to play or sit and relax and enjoy the view. Front gates can be closed for more privacy and keep animals and children safe.

Parking and garages

Parking to the rear for at least 2 cars.

About the Owner/Advertiser, Mr John Allsopp

We are pensioners living in Cornwall and first visited S W France 20 years ago and have spent many holidays there since. We purchased the barns in 2004 and have filled our retirement years renovating the barns. We have four grandchildren and they love visiting the property where they have plenty outside space and river beaches and lakes to visit .

Bourdeilles and Brantome

Brantome (the Venice of the Dordogne), plenty of picnic areas and river restaurants, also large Friday market.


Many areas on the River Dronne provide boating facilities.

Riberac Friday market

Spectacular market every Friday one of the largest in the region.

Riberac Swimming pool

Two wonderful pools, with very high diving boards for the brave and plenty of seating areas. No baggy shorts allowed.

Sandy river beaches

Aubeterre-sur-Dronne (10 mins by car) visit the lovely river beach and then walk up to the historic town. Slightly further afield Lac Jemaye situated in the nature reserve of the Grand Etang in the Foret de la Double. St Aulaye, pretty village and river beaches.

Property was bang up to what we expected. Clean and comfortable . If you like peace and quiet brill need to travel for amenities not to far though .
