Situated by a very quiet local road up a hill and remote from the bustling market town of Riberac with views across the Dronne Valley to the picturesque village of Villetoureux. It is only 3 mins drive or 15 mins walk to the town for those essentials or simply to grab a coffee and watch the world go by. We have tried to ensure that everything is catered for, like a home from home, not just another holiday let.
We continually strive to make staying at Le Puits as comfortable as possible, constantly maintaining, renewing and planting. Full internet through Orange Live Box, password protected. We cover the cost of local calls, so you can book that restaurant or that taxi and simply relax.
Riberac is a bustling market town. The Friday morning market offers cheeses, foie gras, wine, fresh oysters, meat or even painted plates and pots - an essential visit. Riberac has banks, a post office, chemists, large supermarkets, several boulangeries and patisseries, and many individual shops. There are cafes in the market square and excellent restaurants.
The Office de Tourisme in Riberac town centre can give details on many attractions, bike hire, tennis, etc. In the summer months Canoe/Kayak hire is available at the Riberac campsite and at most towns along the Dronne river: Aubeterre, Bourdeilles, Brantome - just choose your stretch of river! Again the Office de Tourisme can give details. The routes are all downstream and a minibus will either take you to the starting point or collect you from the finishing point.
Take a morning out and enjoy lunch al fresco at one of the many villages and towns, or go further afield to Bergerac, St Emilion, Cognac and enjoy all they have the offer – beauty, wine, history.

The patio area is equipped with plenty of garden furniture and has a vine-covered pergola. Weber kettle bbq and tools, overlooking our field, which gently slops away from the farmhouse. The patio and barbecue area are next to the pergola, with beautiful views across the garden and valley.
Our cottage style gardens have mature trees, shrubs, hedges and flowers. The gardens are on various levels and kept tidy by our gardener. The various levels do make Le Puits unsuitable for very young children and the infirm.
Our field is kept separate by a small electric fence and often the local farmer keeps 2 or 3 cows on the field which keeps it tidy. They love to eat any leftover bread and will never cross the electric fence.
Ample private parking at the rear and front of the property.
Not suitable for very young children and the infirm due to open spiral staircase and the un-level gardens.

We live in Kent, England. Our two children are grown and living and working in London. We both work full-time in the financial sector. We visit Le Puits as often as possible. When we visit we would typically also have friends come along too, whether it's to do maintenance or enjoy a relaxing carefree break.

|Why this location?||We absolutely love Le Puits. Everything about it is just right, we wouldn't change anything. The location is perfect, its a short walk (15 mins) to the centre of the busy market town of Riberac with every amenity you could want, but, at the same time, back at Le Puits it's as if the town does not exist, just Le Puits with an ambience all of its own. Situated by a very quiet local road up a hill and remote from the bustling market town with views across the Dronne Valley to the picturesque village of Villetoureux. It is only 3 mins drive or 20 mins walk to the town for those essentials or simply to grab a coffee and watch the world go by.

Our stay at Le Puits was everything we could have wished for and more. The accommodation was extremely well-maintained, spacious, comfortable and very clean. Everything we needed was provided and there were some lovely extra touches like DVD’s and books. The spotless pool is large and the loungers were modern and comfortable. It is a very short distance to a very comprehensive supermarket. The town features some lovely shops and restaurants and a large weekly market and is situated very well for visiting other areas of interest such as Aubeterre, Chateau de Bourdeilles and Bergerac The owners really have thought of everything. We won’t hesitate to visit again.
Thank you for our stay at Le Puits. My family and I had a really relaxing fun time. The house is charming and just as I had hoped for – a real French property, loved the wooden beams and stone walls. We all adored your pool – what a gem, the four of us splashed in it for hours and we couldn’t get the kids out. Riberac is great with great places to eat out and plenty of boulangeries and shops, and there are some really old towns nearby steeped in history. Oradour-sur-Glane was an eye opener and what a moving memorial, it is a bit of a drive but so well worth it. We also loved sitting out and eating in the warm evenings and I would mention that your veranda is great, with lovely views. We will be back!
Relaxing break in an ideal location!
We loved it here! So peaceful with stunning views of the countryside. The supermarket is a two minute drive away just down the road and the local French market on Fridays in Riberac is not to be missed! We spent most days relaxing by the pool soaking up the sunshine with a tasty BBQ in the evening (although there are plently of great local restaurants in Riberac too). Can't wait for our next visit!
Memorable holiday for all the family
Had a very enjoyable stay and some lovely BBQs. The facilities in the farmhouse are excellent and the pool just fantastic. Everything provided is of good quality. There is lots to do in the surrounding area of which we enjoyed Kayaking down the river the best. The weather was lovely and we had some great nights star gazing. Just wonderful.
