Traditional 3 bed roomed stone built house with a private pool, situated in a quiet hamlet overlooking a stunning valley, together with a one bedroom fully equipped Maison D'Ami.
The main house has a well equipped traditional kitchen, large living /dining room, laundry room and loo on the ground floor, all of which are beautifully furnished.
Upstairs three pretty bedrooms, a double and two twins (adjoining) and a shower room with twin basins and loo.
Outside there is a stunning terrace with covered dining area and built in bbq, that overlooks the pool and the valley beyond.
The private swimming pool ( 10m x 5m). has a additional terrace and several shady areas for sitting, eating or reading as well as sunny areas for the loungers.
There is covered parking for 2 vehicles and room to park a third.
There is woodland to the rear stretching up the hillside.
The self contained 'Maison D'Amis' is adjacent to the covered parking area, just across the small courtyard from the main house.
Downstairs it has a fully equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar and a bathroom with a large corner bath wash hand basin and loo.
Upstairs there is a well furnished lounge with views out over the valley and a double bedroom.
The main house can be rented without the Maison D'Ami at a 25% discount should it not be required by the guests. We will not let the Maison D'Ami separately, so that the whole site is always exclusively available to the guests renting the main house.
The kitchen has a 4 burner gas stove with a grill and electric oven. A sink, microwave, fridge freezer and dishwasher. Numerous cupboards and units and a central table and chairs. Plenty of cutlery and crockery. The kitchen opens onto the courtyard with the Maison D'Amis opposite.
There is dining area in the large downstairs room adjacent to the kitchen and set back from the lounge area. The furniture contains a number of antiques and is of a high standard.
The Maison D'Amis has its own kitchen with full sized cooker, fridge/freezer & microwave. It also has a small breakfast bar.
The living room is a large barn with vaulted ceiling at one end. and oak beams. It has patio windows onto the courtyard on one side and opens on the terrace on the other.
At the far end there is a raised seating area with benches a desk, a settee and armchair facing the arched fireplace that contains a log burning stove.
The central part of the room has the tv ( English channels) settees and chairs and coffee table. There are numerous rugs and carpets.
The dining area adjacent to the kitchen had a dining table and chairs, as well as several other items of furniture.
The Maison D'Amis has a living room with an electric log effect fire a bed settee, chairs and cupboards. It has views across the valley and a balcony window overlooking the courtyard.
Upstairs in the main house are 3 bedrooms. A double with king size bed and furnishings. Two twin bedrooms with views over the terrace and pool area. One bedroom is approached through the other. Both have built in cupboards.
The Maison D'Amis has a double bedroom with cupboards and bedside tables.
Bed linen is provided.
There is a downstairs loo in the main house. Upstairs there is a bathroom with walk in shower twin wash hand basins and a loo.
The Maison D'Amis has a downstairs bathroom with a corner bath and shower attachment. Wash hand basin unit and a loo.
Towels are provided.
The main house has electric heating with a mixture of storage heater and underfloor heating downstairs and individual convectors upstairs.
There is a log burning stove in the main room down stairs.
The Maison D'Amis has electric heating.
There are tvs in both buildings. Some games and books in the cupboard in the dining room.
Previous guests have said that the best entertainment is sitting on the terrace and enjoying the scenery of the Vezere valley. They have also commented on how much they have enjoyed the pool and its terraces.

There is woodland stretching up the hillside from the house.
There are gardens around the pool area and to the south of the house.
The hillside is south facing with lovely views across the valley down to the river Vezere and beyond.
The main terrace overlooks the pool area and down across the valley. It has covered dining area and an arched bbq built into the walling.
There is terracing around the pool that proved both sunny and shaded areas.
The pool area is fenced in, and the pool has an electrically operated cover.
There is a courtyard with a central decorative tree between the house and Maison D'Amis.
There is covered parking for two cars Adjacent to the Maison D'Amis across the courtyard from the main house.
There is room for another car to park close to the building.
We provide a folding cot for young babies.
Children are welcome however even though the pool area is fenced and there is a pool cover that can be used, we would recommend close supervision on children.
Some of the furniture is quite valuable and we would appreciate care being taken.
The site is on a steep hill. That gives us wonderful views, but makes it unsuitable for people with mobility problems, as unfortunately we have found since my wife became disabled.
The Maison D'Amis is let only to people renting the main house. That guarantees that the whole site including the pool area and terracing is not shared.
If it is not required the main house and rest of the site can be rented at a 25% discount.
Hello my name is Roman, I'm 67 years old & married to Barbara. We are both retired and live at the south coast near Bournemouth. We both grew up in southeast London and went to the same school. I'm retired now and look after Barbara who is disabled. <br/>We have owned 'Jaclaudier' for 13 years and we bought it because we fell in love with it and enjoyed renovating it over the years. Unfortunately because of Barbara's disability we can't use the property ourselves as much as we would like.

|Why this location?||We spent our holidays in France for two years looking for a house to buy. We chose the area between Brive, Perigeaux and Sarlat because the countryside was so beautiful, there were so many interesting places to visit and because it is less crowded than the Dordogne in high summer. We wanted to be close to a town with good facilities and Terrasson which is only 5 minutes drive away has several good restaurants, supermarkets, banks and a weekly market that stretches over both sides of the river and over the old medieval bridge. The old town is beautiful with commanding views over the river Vezere. We also wanted the tranquility of a rural environment. Jaclaudiere is situated in the small village of Marquoil perched on the hillside with spectacular views over the Vezere valley. You can canoe down the river, passing the overhanging cliff dwellings at le Roc St Christoph to Montignac,with the wonderful paintings of Lascaux caves nearby, or to Les Eyzies and the Museum of Prehistory.|
