What a wonderful holiday we have just had. Idyllic surroundings and lovely hosts. We couldn't have asked for any more than that.

We loved Perigueux, St Astier and our great duck meal in the heart of the local community on the Wednesday evening.

The gite, pool and garden are beautiful. The garden and pool in an attempt to describe them are almost beyond words. Imagine a huge garden, a giant chess board, a tree house, large pool, banana trees, grape vines, a fantastic terrace and amazing sunsets - and you have it.

Our children did not want to leave, and to be frank, neither did we.

10 out of 10!

A beautiful property with great amenities including a lovely pool set in mature grounds. The pool had a cover which made it possible to use even in bad weather. The accomodation is well appointed, clean and comfortable, great for larger family groups or close friends. The hosts are welcoming and most helpful, pointing out great local attractions and restaurants and fun day trips. The area is great to explore on bikes. I would suggest a car would be necessary to get the most from your holiday.

Owner response

Thank you all for being such great guests and for your positive review. We look forward to welcoming you again in the not too distant future. Aasa & David

Paradise! We stayed for a week in June and booked for the whole family for our summer holiday fairly much as soon as we arrived. The accommodation is perfect, ideal for a family or large group. Having both gites included in the rental was great as my parents could stay in the smaller (1 bedroom) gite & have a bit of peace and quiet while the rest of the family stayed in the larger gite which has 3 bedrooms. It was a real home from home with lots of unique touches. The owners, Aasa and David, were very helpful and gave us lots of ideas for places to visit in the area. Bergerac & Saint Emilion were two of our favourites and both only a short drive away. We also hired canoes on the river just down the road. The gardens at Villa Magnieu are beautiful as is the fabulous pool. Highly recommended :)
