About the Owner/Advertiser, Mrs Linda Austin

Ken and Linda bought Les Lavandes in 1996 and since then have set about systematically improving the property, accommodation and facilities. A while ago we turned a storage area into our one bedroom apartment, La Vigne, which gave us another letting property exclusively for couples. We like to think that we have got the mix right here as many of our visitors come back year after year. We have met some amazing people and have made lasting friendships.

Year property purchased 1996
Why this location? We are in the centre of the Golden Triangle of Perigueux, Bergerac and Sarlat, close to the river and everything this beautiful region has to offer.
Unique benefits of property We are one kilometer from the main road giving a safe environment for children. All of our properties face in different directions and are not overlooked by their neighbors.

The Owner Recommends

Le Bournat ~ Le Bugue

Le Bournat is a theme-village showing life as it was in rural France around about the year of 1900. Each building has been equipped with authentic tools, machines and furniture of the era and as you walk round you can visit wood carvers, potters, basket weavers, knife sharpeners, clog-makers and lots more.

To make it even more interesting each of these has people carrying out these trades using the tools of 1900. It is fascinating to see.

As a family of 6, it takes some time to save up for our holiday, we had scoured the internet for hours searching for our ideal holiday. we had heard of the Dordogne region in France before and found there to be some excellent activities that would suit all of our families needs. we have 4 young girls ranging from 10 through to 4 years old.

next came the choice of property, self catering is our preferred choice due to the costs involved, and we stumbled upon this little gem. what can i say, the property is set just outside of a quaint French town, but far enough to be isolated from the hustle and bustle of it.

set in the tranquil hills Les Lavandes is the perfect location for any holiday, the house we stayed in was perfect. clean, tidy, Wi-fi, TV available with English TV channels for the kids on rainy days (we only had 1 in the whole 2 weeks!!!). our house had a wonderful patio area overlooking the sunset and the private pool, we even had our own BBQ.

The swimming pool was cleaned daily, there were sunbeds available with padded cushions to further enhance our relaxation time. the pool, had both a shallow and deep end meaning that diving in was safe.

the hosts Ken & Linda made our stay effortless, any questions about the local area were answered in great detail and nothing was ever a problem.

would i recomend it - absolutly
will we be coming back - this is a definate yes
when can we come back - not quick enough!!!

we thank you for such a wonderful holiday
