Wow what can I say... the house was fantastic it had absolutely everything there was nothing the owners hadn’t thought off. The house was lovely & clean and we was welcomed with a small hamper The kitchen had a dishwasher which was great as there was 7 of us.
The pool was amazing & so refreshing in the heat, there was lots of inflatables for little ones.
There was a games room with a pool table, dart board & table tennis which was brilliant for my sons & their mate. Kept them entertained whilst we sipped wine & chilled.
The view from the top bedroom window was amazing you can see for miles.
We loved dining outside under the lovely tree & watching the world go by.
There was plenty of parking at the rear of the house.
Danny the caretaker came everyday to clean & check on the pool and was very knowledgeable about the area.
We did plenty of traveling around the Dordogne. Every Friday in July & August the village have a gathering which was really good to be part of.
Plenty of amazing places to visit and vineyards.
The lake was about a 10 min drive in the car with free canoeing which the boys enjoyed.
I can honestly say this is the best house we’ve ever stayed at in France and would highly recommend this accommodation to anybody wanting to stay in this area.
Thanks again to Sean & Mel (& Danny)
We are delighted and so happy you had such a great time and enjoyed all the benefits of the area. It means so much to us as we know how important it is for people to have a high standard holiday house. Once again you are most welcome to return and enjoy the house again.
Warm wishes to you all
Beautiful location - a few minutes walk from the pretty village & overlooking vineyards and the lake in the distance. The house is an old traditional style property with wooden shutters and a split level garden, giving you several areas for sitting/ dining and an impressive pool with gorgeous views.
The house is very well equipped - we found nothing missing we could need - down to umbrellas (thankfully we didn't need these!) and a picnic hamper. The kitchen has every implement, there is a large selection of board games for adults and kids as well as books, DVD's & playstation. Bedrooms & living area are comfy & everything is very clean. The pool is serviced regularly by Danny, who is helpful without being obtrusive.
The village has a bistro and a café as well as a restaurant. Unfortunately the bar has closed down, but you can still get a drink in the beautiful 'jardin' of the bistro or on the square from the restaurant or from Café Lulu.
The lake is a couple of km's to walk to - our kids aged 4, 7 & 9 were fine to walk although on very hot days it was tiring for them. But you can drive - there is ample parking. The lake has an area for swimming (100m between the two furthest buoys) & life guards. There are toilets, a park and a café - the food was much better than I expected for a lake side café.
The surrounding villages are beautiful with fantastic restaurants.
This was one of my favourite holidays - I never return to the same place twice but am very tempted!
We are so pleased you found everything clean and welcoming, we pride ourselves on giving people a high quality surrounding because we appreciate its your holiday for memories long beyond the 2 weeks. We would be delighted to host you and your lovely children again. Thank you so much for the kind words.
