About this property

An Elegant Stone Cottage With Private Pool. This cottage/gite is in a rural setting.

Le Chataignier is a stone cottage built 300 years ago. The hamlet of grand place was originally a collection of barns and units for farm tenants with the land lord living in the Maison Maitre. The area produce wheat for flour to make bread. We still have the original millstones and Ancient four à pain (bread oven) which produced bread for the locals. The surrounding land is now used to produce wine - and there’s lots of it!

The private heated pool has Roman steps for easy access
Our large horse-chestnut tree creates the perfect shady area for a relaxing bbq or a glass of the region’s world class wines!
The secure and private walled courtyard to the rear is a wonderful sun-trap, a peaceful retreat and a perfect place for a quiet evening meal

The garden boasts an ancient four à pain, water pump, patio/terrace and grassy areas.
Le Chataignier is part of a tiny, peaceful hamlet of around 8 properties surrounded by vineyards, farmland and woodland. Very rural indeed!

The perfect setting offering a truly relaxing, re-energising and memorable holiday!
Upon entering the welcoming hall with exposed stone walls and beams, you’ll soon realise you’ve found heaven.
