Hi! We're Geraldine & Joe. For years we happily holidayed in various parts of France with our daughter until we discovered the Périgord Noir! From the moment we set foot in Sarlat (we only came for the market!) we fell in love with this magical little town and were hooked. Drawn back time after time, last year we had the opportunity to buy our lovely apartment and so La Liberté Studio was born. Currently in London, we move to Sarlat in 2018. We and our local team look forward to welcoming you.

Crêperie Lou Dotze, Place du Peyrou, Sarlat - opposite Cathedrale Saint-Sacerdos.
Serving savoury and sweet crepes. I think the owner has changed in the last year because last year the service was appalling but in July and August 2017 these were the best crepes we've had (both sweet and savoury) and the waiting staff are delightful! Highly recommended!!
Crêperie des Fontaines, 4, Cour des Fontaines, Sarlat
They've gained some poor reviews on Tripadvisor but we've always found them very good and nice for a change of location in a pleasant, not too busy, square.
Le Canele De Bordeaux - Lemoine, 13 Rue De La Republique, Sarlat
Nice sweet crepes (no savoury). They also sell beautiful, original decorative chocolate gifts
La Couleuvrine, 1 Place de la Bouquerie, Sarlat (our favourite in all of Sarlat!)
La Petite Borie, 4, Rue Tourny, Sarlat
La Rapiere, Place de la Cathedrale, Sarlat
Chez Le Gaulois, 9 rue Tourny, Sarlat (Cheese/charcuterie platters for when you've had enough of duck!!)
A bottle of the local Pecharmant is a must if you like red full-bodied wine!
Gouffre de Padirac, 46500 Padirac, Lot - our very first experience of a gouffre and still the most awe-inspiring
Gouffre de Proumeyssac, Rue de Proumeyssac, 24260 Audrix
Grotte de Bara-Bahau, 24260 Le Bugue
Grotte de Rouffignac, 24580 Rouffignac -Saint-Cernin
Font de Gaume (reservations need to be made weeks/months in advance)
Canoeing down the Dordogne - available from various operators at multiple locations.
Cycling the Sarlat Voie Verte route. A very gentle flat route along a former train track on a 48km loop from Sartlat to Cazoulès. Perfect for novices. Bicycle hire is available at the start of the route at Liberty Cycle, Voie verte, ZONE DE MADRAZES, Sarlat. We hadn't cycled in 30 years and our 8yr old had only cycled 5km previously and we all managed it and loved it! It was great!! Highly recommended!!
