Our holiday home is in the quiet hamlet of Douville situated between Bergerac and Perigueux.
Although it is in a peaceful location it is just 5mins drive from the nearest bakery, 10mins from nearest restaurants and 20 minutes from nearest supermarkets and Bergerac airport.
The property is not overlooked at all and you can choose to eat indoors, or outdoors, play and sunbath by the pool which will be purely for your use and watch the stars at night as there is no light pollution. There are plenty of places to walk, cycle or 'just be'.
The kitchen is very well equipped with cooker, microwave, coffee makers, dishwasher (washing machine in garage), plenty of crockery and utensils including melamine crockery for outdoors eating and drinking.
There is an L shaped living room that has a large dining table and chairs for 6 people, comfortable settees and additional seating. There are 3 double doors that open up to a balcony with views over open farmland and forest.
There are games, books, wi-fi, cd player and english tv.
There are 4 bedrooms, two of which have french beds and furniture and double doors open onto balcony looking over open farmland, garden and pool area.
The other 2 bedrooms look out over the back garden. These rooms can be made up as 1 king size bed in each room or 2 single beds in each room.
There is one main family bathroom with bath and shower, vanity basin with make up mirror above and toilet. (hairdryer for your use). There is also a basin with mirror over in one of the bedrooms and a separate wc.
There is central heating throughout the property.
There is english tv, wi-fi, cd player, board games, books. (Outdoor games in garage as well as full size table tennis.
Slide and sand pit for smaller visitors.
The house has nearly an acre of garden with mature trees and shrubs, a picnic table that seats 8 or more people with retractable cover over, a large pool with shower, sun loungers, outside toys to play with including inflatable pool lilos. There are also separate seating areas if required. Inside a cool area under the house is a full sized table tennis table.
There is plenty of parking in the very long and private driveway.
In 2017, 2018 and now in 2019 we have had couples, families with babies up to teenage children who have thoroughly enjoyed their stay at our holiday home and in their comments on our website and facebook site you can see some of their comments.
I can also recommend the property for the elderly and people who cannot 'do' stairs as our property can be accessed through our conservatory and is all on one level.
We are in our mid fifties and felt that although we both work full time in the UK we needed a get away from it home where we could completely relax.

Lovely house in stunning surroundings. We had a quiet, relaxed week in Douville, which was just what the four of us needed.
The house was impressively well equipped, specially in the kitchen (plenty of crockery, cutlery and glasses) and the little touches i.e welcome pack, was very much appreciated.
Would recommend it for anyone wanting to get away fromthe hustle and bustle of city life.
Thankyou very for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay in Douville and you are very welcome to return at any time.
