Previously the farmhouse of a well-established vineyard, Le Roc Nord offers you and your family not only an idyllic location for a self-catering holiday with sunshine, peace and wonderful historical countryside, but also the opportunity to enjoy plenty of activities and superb food and wine. The farmhouse, which was meticulously renovated in 2003, is spacious and equipped to a very high standard that we ourselves would like to find when on holiday.
The ground floor accommodation comprises of the Salon, elegantly and comfortably furnished with sofas and easy chairs, satellite tv, dvd, wi-fi internet connection, fire and a varied selection of books and board games. The kitchen is light and airy with seating for eight, it is very well equipped with gas cooker, dish washer, washing machine, microwave, tea towels, iron & ironing board, food processor, fridge/freezer, double sink with drainer, toaster - it retains the traditional atmosphere of a farmhouse kitchen. A magnificent range of traqditional built-in wooden cupboards provides ample storage.
All bedrooms have hair dryers, electric blankets, bed linen and bathroom towels. A cot and high chair are available on request. There is central heating for the cooler months making it ideal as a year round destination.
In the garden there is plenty of room to spread out and relax, play badminton, ball games or boules. Take a dip in the heated pool and enjoy alfresco eating on the terraces.
St. Vivien has a tennis court, shop & wine co-op, Vélines (3km) has shops, bar, doctor and pharmacy. The supermarkets are a 15-minute drive. There are local markets every day of the week.
Lac de Gurson (6km) has leisure & sporting activities, fishing and bars. Chateau Vigiers’ 18 hole golf course is ½hr. Canoeing on the Dordogne is 10 mins. There is an excellent selection of restaurants within a short drive, and for wine lovers, we are situated in the heart of the Bergerac, Bordeaux and St.Emilion vineyards.
Make the short journey to Les Jardins de Sardy and spend an afternoon wandering through the gardens and admiring the stunning formal pool.
Travel to St Emilion itself, a UNESCO site, and visit the catacombs under the city before coming back into the daylight and making a visit to one of the many vineyards that offer tours and tastings.
