About this property

Charming Gite With Direct Access To Pool. This cottage/gite is in a rural setting.

This fantastic 4 bedroom cottage lies on the SE corner of Le Roudier.
With 2 entrance doors and a wheel chair friendly downstairs area, the accommodation is both flexible and practical for families.
The access to the large 14m x 7m pool is via the private shady terrace which provides the ideal retreat, beneath the vine covered pergola, to relax on the hammock or loungers.
The games area and summer kitchen allow you to escape the heat of the mid-day sun and of course benefit from poolside, alfresco living.
Panoramic views across the valley to the south side of Le Roudier typify beautifully the gentle, Perigordian countryside. For wildlife and bird enthusiasts, this corner of the Dordogne is a real treat and from the vantage point of the extended patio, you can enjoy all the sights and sounds that this rural retreat will offer.

La Ferme formed part of the original 300 year old farmstead and retains many of the original features and character.
The well equipped kitchen at the centre of this cottage gives you the option of experimenting with some of the wonderful local specialties. If all that seems like too much hard work and you really don’t want to be going out to one of the many local restaurants, contact the owners to arrange for a local chef to come in and cater for you.
Whether you are a family or just a small group, this property has all the charm and practicality that you need and provides the perfect base to explore this glorious corner of SW France.

Garden and outside

The cottages at Le Roudier have their own terrace areas, bbqs and outside furniture. In addition to that, guests benefit from the established gardens, fields and woodland that makes up over 30 acres of the property.
For the more energetic, the football pitch provides an open area to play whilst the lower fields have oaks, willow and shaded paths within the grounds that lend themselves to more quiet pursuits.
Paths and bridleways that run through Le Roudier are a great way to explore the immediate area and they are packed full of native wildlife and flora. Varieties of deer and boar frequent the gardens along with an enormous array of birdlife.
As the heat of the day relents and the sun slips quietly behind the horizon, what better way to relax than to take a stroll down one of the wooded paths lined with wild orchids.

Parking and garages

Plenty of parking in the car park and adjacent graveled pathways.

Visitor suitability

The rural location does mean that private transport is required as taxi and buses can be expensive and unreliable.
Some of the facilities have been made wheelchair friendly and access to the pool, terrace and summer kitchen is all on one level. Full details can be supplied on request.
