The village of Beynac-et-Cezenac is really photogenic, with its hilltop castle dominating the Dordogne river.
This is a very pretty house set in a beautiful landscape; situated on the hillside close to Castelnaud La Chapelle, and as such, is afforded magnificent views. The house is surrounded by wildflower meadows and mature hedges filled with sweet scented wisteria trees.
Inside, the rooms are airy, light, cosy yet spacious. The décor and attention to detail in interior design was superb and flowed throughout the house and indeed to the outdoor fixtures and furnishings. Very pleasing to the eye and yet practical too. The furnishings were of a very high quality from the leather and oak of the lounge through to the luxe bedlinen and towels (note that these are included in the rental, unlike some others). The pool/dressing robes and matching towels were a lovely touch. The house was equipped with everything we needed and more besides.
The pool was delightful (cleaned daily) and it was a joy to sit out (May visit) listening to cuckoos and crickets, and have kites overhead, while higher still, small eagles soared. If you were quiet you may be lucky to have roe deer visit the meadow below. Truly idyllic.
Vallee Vue, apart from being a wonderful holiday home, is also a lovely base to visit the many tourist attractions; from caves, castles, pretty villages to riverside adventures (canoes etc)…..or merely stroll around the local lanes and enjoy nature; birds to butterflies, wildflowers etc. and a slice of the good life.
We can highly recommend Vallee Vue.t
