A spacious ground floor, fully equipped, self contained self catering apartment with an open plan kitchen/ living/ dining room and a large family bedroom sleeping four, one double bed and two singles.
Both the main living room and the bedroom open onto a small terrace along the front of the house. Across a small chemin rural are beautiful gardens with streams, ponds and woodland, inviting exploration. These are not fenced. The main garden is to the side of the house and is raised above the front garden. It is reached up steps and through a gate, opening onto an expanse of open lawn with a fabulous swimming pool and sunbathing area.
There is a communal laundry room for guests use and free wi-fi is available in the apartment.

Kitchen and dining

The kitchen/dining area is fully equipped with an electric cooker, a fridge/ freezer, a dishwasher and a Tassimo coffee maker, please bring your favourite blends. All basic cooking pots, pans and utensils are provided. There is a large dining table with four chairs and all the necessary cutlery, crockery and glassware. Doors open onto the front terrace from this area.

Living rooms

The living area is open plan with the kitchen/dining room. There is a settee and two chairs, a coffee table and a small television with a dvd player. Free UK channels are provided via a Sky box. Free wi-fi is available.

Bedrooms

The family bedroom has a double bed and two single beds, a wardrobe and a chest of drawers. The double bed can be separated from the singles by a curtain. Doors open onto the front terrace from this room. Fresh linen is provided weekly if requested.

Bathrooms

The salle d’eau is fully tiled with a shower, toilet and washbasin. Fresh towels are provided weekly if requested. The apartment has it’s own hot water tank.

Heating

Electric heaters are in all the rooms. They should not be necessary but, if they are required, I do ask that they are used with consideration.

Entertainment

The television is attached to a dvd player. I’m sure a games console could be attached if guests want to bring their own. Free UK channels are available via a Sky box. You may bring your own Sky card if you have one, I think it would work.
There are some games for use in the garden, including pétanque. The gardens themselves are endless entertainment, with the swimming pool being high on the list. The streams and pond are delightful and the gardens are full of birds and wildlife.

Parking and garages

Free parking is available at the end of the house, with extra parking by the garage if required.

Visitor suitability

Le Moulin de Ladouch is a beautiful place to stay, but visitors must be aware of the open nature of the front garden’s streams and waterways, and of the chemin rural in front of the house. Parents of young toddlers should be especially vigilant. The pool is not closely fenced, but the garden it is in is fenced, with an alarmed gate.

I moved to the Dordogne from Ealing in late 2017. The quality of life here, compared with that in London, is amazing, it’s so clean and quiet. I’m looking forward to beautiful summers and short winters, although this first winter has been unusually wet! I have two grown up daughters who don’t live here and a friendly, medium sized dog, who does.

Why this location? I fell in love with this house and was lucky it’s in a great tourist area.
Unique benefits of property As well as being in a very interesting tourist area, Le Moulin is a destination in itself. The gardens are a particular feature, with streams, ponds and woodland as well as a large formal garden with a fabulous swimming pool and plenty of space to play. There are many shady spots to escape the sun or just sit back and relax.
Just 1.5km away is the town of Le Bugue, which has twice weekly markets and attractions such as the Aquarium du Perigord, the largest freshwater aquarium in Europe, and Bara Bahau, one of the most ornate caves in the area.

The largest freshwater aquarium in Europe. Lots to see including a large collection of sturgeon, alligators and a turtle beach. Outdoor cafe with cooling mists at the end of the tour. On the same site you will find a Prehistoric Labyrinthe, Jungle Golf and Big Bird, a high wire adventure.
