Le Roudier first opened its doors to guests in 1996. The current owners, Paul and Dearbhla took over in 2003 and have welcomed many holiday makers from around the globe since then. La Maison is an ideal villa for up to 8 people, with it's private heated pool and hot-tub overlooking the beautiful Dordogne countryside.

Paul and Dearbhla have worked on adding to and improving Le Roudier with sympathetic renovation over the years. They have enjoyed making it their home and bringing up their young family in this beautiful and tranquil corner of the Dordogne.

The 300 year old buildings of Le Roudier stand in over 30 acres of glorious Perigourdian countryside with fantastic panoramic views across the adjoining valley.

Set in its own 30 acres, it is surrounded by wonderful rolling countryside and yet only a few kilometres from the bastide town of Eymet. Bergerac town is a mere 20 minutes away and the airport provides excellent connections to the UK and Europe. Le Roudier provides an oasis of peace and tranquility for a relaxing holiday, plus a good base for sightseeing and other more active pursuits.

This beautiful hamlet of Le Roudier comprises of 4 cottages, the main farmhouse and converted bake house. The cottages are centered around the larger of the two swimming pools and can be rented individually or collectively, catering for up to 33 people.

Depending on the size of your party, you can book one or all of the cottages. Share a pool or have exclusive use.

Garden and outside

Outside the kitchen door you can access the south facing dining terrace (with a selection of blinds and sunshades) and onto the sun deck with heated pool and jacuzzi. A charcoal bbq is provided. You can access the prairie and woodland of the undulating Dordogne countryside.

There is a track next to the property which you may follow into the village of Fonroque (about a 30 minute walk). Access to bikes upon request.

There is parking for 3 or 4 cars.

Visitor suitability

Whilst the pool can be screen off, this property has a number of steps and a terraced pool and may not be suitable for toddlers or the infirm.
The rural location does mean that private transport is required as taxi and buses can be expensive and unreliable.

About the Owner/Advertiser, Mr Paul Smith

Dearbhla and Paul have been living in the Dordogne since 2003 and have 2 children that were born in France. Formally an engineer in the UK, Paul has worked all over Europe and lived for 3 years in Germany before moving to France. Dearbhla's past life, working in the City of London seems eons away from their current routines, set in the beautiful rural setting in this fantastic corner of the Perigordian countryside. Only 20 mins from Bergerac and its airport, Le Roudier is a real paradise.
