A characterful and comfortable stone house set in the Dordogne countryside 6 km north of the medieval town Sarlat. The garden is set in an acre of grounds with several walnut, cherry, fig and plum trees frequented by red squirrels.
The property is private with no immediate neighbours and shares the drive with a local chateau to one side of the property. Ideal for families, walkers, cyclists and those who just want a deserved and relaxed time. A km away towards the village of Proissans is one of the best bakers and butchers in the region.
I have a good local team in Sarlat that do the changeovers, pool, and garden. I am in constant contact with them. Their phone numbers are available in the House file should the need arise.

I have been a veterinary surgeon for the last 25 years in the UK. I had my own clinic in NW London which I sold a few years ago. I lived in The Chilterns, Buckinghamshire for most of that time. I now spend my time between UK, France and mostly doing voluntary veterinary work in South Africa.

|Why this location?||The property is rural yet only a few minutes drive away from one of the best medieval villages in France. The beautiful surrounding countryside for endless walks and cycling, inspiring architecture in the many villages together with abundant cultural activities and ongoings attracted me to this area.|
|Unique benefits of property||Countryside surrounds yet only 6 km north of Sarlat. The house is a typically Perigord stone build, full of character but with modern updated comforts with good privacy.|
When at the house I always have to do a cycle ride or walk to these gardens. Always impressive and enjoyable.
Architecture and cultural activities in abundance. The Wednesday and Saturday food markets are known to be the best in France.
Home to Richard 1st with incredible views of the Dordogne valley steeped in historical events.
Home to Josephine Baker, known as the "banana girl"in her time with her dancing and singing. Fascinating place together with the live Bird Show displays.
A picturesque village with good views of the Dordogne valley.
A canoe trip through the caves is very interesting indeed.
This is a must! Can take from 3 to 6 hours depending on your route. Incredible scenery on the banks of the river as you glide past slowly in your canoe. A good day out in the sunshine with lots of swims in the river.
