There are two wings to the house with stairs leading to two bedrooms and a bathroom and on the other side another two bedrooms en-suite, making it ideal for two families.
There is a guest toilet and laundry room with dryer and a sink and a large American fridge/freezer.
From the front garden we have our potager where we grow our vegetables and keep our hens.
At the back of the property there is a little walled private seating area and steps down to the pergola where you can relax on the couch under the wisteria. From there you walk down to the pool where you will find le frêne (the weeping ash) and a hammock inside to escape the heat.
We have 3 hectares of grounds in which to explore and find your private spot.
The kitchen/dining room are open plan with a large fireplace and doors to the barbecue. The dining table seats 8. We love to cook, so you will find everything you need as well as a huge crockery cupboard. Good coffee is essential so we have a DeLonghi machine, drip cups, Mocca pots and Aeropress.

Greg & I are from Cape Town, South Africa. After living in London for 8 years and working in advertising for most of our lives, we decided we needed an adventure and change of pace. Having holidayed in SW France many times, we found the perfect place to start our business and one of our greatest pleasures is growing our own fruit & veg in our potager."<br/>I enjoy decor, food and travel, so renovating our house, learning how to make jams and preserves and exploring this region has been a delight.<br/>

|Why this location?||La Maure is a quiet little hamlet, where you can not only enjoy the peace and beauty of the countryside but being just 18kms from Bergerac, you have restaurants, shopping, markets and it's wine museum. Most importantly the airport is only 20 minutes away, which means you can be lying next to the pool with a glass of wine in no time! There is a local cafe 3 kms in Campsegret where you can buy fresh bread etc everyday. It is an excellent location to explore the whole of the Dordogne. Vineyards, chateaux, canoeing on the river, Lascaux caves and pretty little Bastide towns with amazing views. Walks, fishing, golf and wine-tasting is all on our doorstep. Bordeaux is only 90 mins away, St Emilion 60 mins and Perigueux 30 mins, making us very central. Everyday there is a different market to visit & buy the local fresh produce such as truffles, mushrooms and foie gras, so maybe you'd rather just lie in a hammock next to the pool with a picnic.|
|Unique benefits of property||Apart from it's excellent location, Le Frêne is an extremely charming and comfortable home. Keeping all the original features of the Perigord, such as wooden beams and stone walls, it has all the modern conveniences of the 21st century. All set on grounds of 3 hectares, with many areas to sit & relax or enjoy the pool. Comfort is our priority, with 100% linen bedding, duck down pillows and fluffy towels. The kitchen is equipped for the chef, with every utensil, pot or dish you might need as well as a DeLonghi coffee machine & Mocca pots. The house is furnished with style and personal decor, with art, sculpture & furniture collected from all our travels around the world. Outside you will find a covered barbecue area with a dining table for 8 and the pergola overlooking the pool allows you to recline with couch & chairs under the wisteria. There are lovely views from the stables and walks along our stream. Guests can enjoy seasonal veg from our garden & fresh eggs from our hens.|
