A large private decked area offers space to relax (sun loungers) and for outside dining (dining table and chairs).

There are fruit trees to sit under if shade is preferred.
A 16m long gravel parking area (using a stabiliser base to ensure a firm driving surface) offers space enough for 2 large cars (length ways) or 3 small sports cars. If required guests are able to use our brick driveway, particularly if they need to work on their car or for better space to clean/polish/fettle.
A wide range of car related equipment in the barns is at the disposal of guests, with disposable overalls and gloves to keep you clean and oil free. Just let us know what you need and when.
While the gite was created with car enthusiasts in mind it is suitable for anyone on a driving holiday/touring through France. This area of France is quite rural so not really suited to party animals! Anyone wanting a relaxed, peaceful, and gentle holiday will thoroughly enjoy the surroundings.
Unfortunately we do not allow children or pets.
Classic car enthusiasts who want to bring a piece of driving heaven to like-minded enthusiasts.

|Why this location?||The beautiful countryside of the Perigord Vert provides a wonderful rolling landscape of trees, hills, valleys and big skies. This makes for great driving and lots of "green routes" on the map. For us driving IS the holiday - it isn't just a way to get to a destination, so it was really important to find somewhere where we could enjoy driving. The North Dordogne fits that bill. This is also a great place to stop if you're heading for the South of France and is within driving distance of the major tourist sites of the Dordogne but away from the crowds. So for people wanting a driving holiday or touring around France, this seemed like an ideal spot. There are also lots of walking routes - the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela literally passes our front gate, and there are lovely woodland walks and natural/man-made lakes and leisure spots where you can enjoy the peace, tranquillity and wildlife.|
|Unique benefits of property||Our holiday home was created for people on driving holidays or touring France in their classic car or on a motorbike. We have facilities for proper car cleaning and maintenance with equipment and tools and even disposable overalls provided; somewhere safe to park (with CCTV as additional security); knowledge of some fantastic local driving routes - we provide printed maps, an interactive tourist map with lots of Google Maps, and a pre-programmed sat nav for guest use to ensure you get the most out of your car/bike. We have designed our property to take away some of the worry of driving through Europe, and offer a service that you will not find at other gites.
We are situated off the Route National between Limoges and Perigueux along a no-through road, so there is limited passing traffic and the only noise you generally hear is the birds! The gite has been entirely renovated over the last three years and offers a very high standard of accommodation for you and your car/motorbike!
There is an utterly fabulous winding road literally minutes from the gite which will bring a smile to the face of any driving enthusiast. Book with us and we'll tell you where it is - in fact we'll even take you there! All of our recommended drives are on our interactive map and pre-programmed sat nav.
There are a range of lakes in the area that offer walks, swimming, canoeing and other activities.
Some spectacular and historic sites throughout the Dordogne will amaze visitors. We have the Grotte de Villars and Grotte de Tourtoirac on our doorstep, but further afield the amazing Gouffre de Padirac is well worth the drive.
A great place to visit with or without a classic/sports car. its a very beautiful gite in a pleasant location with good valley views.
Everything is beautifully detailed, and so much thought has gone into the set up, from providing suggested routes & car maintenance resources to the kitchen equipment etc! Not suitable for children but it is the perfect place for 2 couples to enjoy a relaxing or driving holiday in the Dordogne.
We will be back to visit Steph and Stephen who are brilliant hosts.
Thanks Jan - it was a real pleasure to meet you all at last and we're glad you enjoyed the gite and some of the local roads (even though your under tray struggled with some humps). We look forward to seeing you again, and can promise there will be teapots on hand!
First of all i would like to say the pictures of this beautiful and tranquil property do not do justice as to how good it is. The whole accommodation and facilities are to a very, very high standard and specification and everything you will need is provided.
Steve and Stef immediately made me feel welcome and are approachable for any requirements or assistance. If you love your motoring you will find undercover and secure parking in one of their outbuildings which also have tools and equipment that they will willingly allow you to use.
You can tell Steve and Stef love motoring and have thought of everything.
A huge 'library' of local roads/routes are provided together with a map showing their locations and if you require, Stef is a whiz at helping to get a route downloaded on your sat-nav!
Steve and Stef speak with experience and detailed knowledge of the area and one trip i must mention is to 'Oradour-sur-Glane village' (as recommended by Steve and Stef) whilst enjoying the roads to and from this location - this is a French ghost town from World War II, left as a memorial to the events that took place here on June 10th 1944.
After enjoying a day out it is a pleasure to return to the property and enjoy the tranquillity it provides with views from the cleverly designed decking.
A 5 star property with owners who have tried (and succeeded) to cater for every eventuality/requirement.
Thank you for a wonderful stay, in a beautiful area at a quality property.
Many thanks - we're glad you enjoyed your stay and some of the local sites. There's plenty more to do and lots more local roads to discover, so we look forward to seeing you again and pointing you in the right direction!
Upon arriving on my motorcycle we had a very warm welcome from Steve and Stef, the facilities they offered were second to none..........undercover secure parking in 1 of there outbuilding/barns including a great range of tooling and cleaning equipment that was free to use at anytime ( even down to a new paint brush which i asked for to clean out certain hard to get to places to remove dust and grime from the road trip previous) which is always great because who wants to ride ( or even drive) on a dirty motorbike/car for the next days adventures ahead.
Talking of which, Steve and Stef offer a wide variety of certain road trips that they have both experienced from some short to long routes incorporating some of the most beautiful scenery i have ever seen, especially the ones with beautiful lakes to stop and have a quick swim in and cool down. ( and a ice cream )
They will even programme your sat nav to the routes that they have driven on,also, they provide a very well detailed folder with all routes from short to medium to long with full details which was absolutely fantastic.
And after some great days riding there was nothing better to come back to this FANTASTIC PEACEFUL setting which offers 5 star quality through and through, a very well equipped and high quality kitchen,bathroom/ power shower and luxurious bedroom with fantastic views.......and to top it all, sitting on the decking with a beer chilling, taking in the views and reminiscing on the days events.
Many thanks Jon. We were only too pleased to help with the route planning - we hope your return trip to the UK worked out and the 'Paris Avoidance' route worked out. We hope to see you again soon, and for longer so you can enjoy more of what's on offer locally and soak up more of the peace and quiet.
Fantastic! This is definitely the best quality gite we've ever stayed in! It was spotlessly clean, really well-equipped and fitted out to a high standard. It was very comfortable and the hosts seem to have thought of everything. Nothing was too much trouble.
They had the most detailed guest information folder we've ever seen with important information like how to work the TV and dishwasher! The maps and ideas for days out were really helpful and there was plenty of travel and car books to while away an evening. Stephen and Stephanie gave us some great advice about where to go and helped plan our journeys. We visited the amazing Gouffre de Padirac - thanks for helping us book online and print our tickets! If you visit Limoges don't miss the beautiful gardens round the cathedral and the little chapel of the butchers in the medieval area - an unexpected gem. After a long day out it was great to relax in the garden with a glass of wine and enjoy the peace and quiet. We even saw some deer. It was so peaceful. A real oasis.
We brought our own tea bags but didn't need to bother as the welcome pack was excellent. The Fiddlers Rest Irish Pub just down the road served super food and had the best Irish coffee ever. Highly recommended if you don't fancy cooking.
We left a couple of small things behind which were washed, packaged up and sent back to us. Brilliant service. We would highly recommend Bonnes Routes and will definitely be coming back soon!
Many thanks D. We're glad you enjoyed your stay in our little "oasis". See ... we told you you didn't need a fancy car to enjoy yourself. We're glad you're lost items arrived safely. Hope to see you again soon.
