We all had a wonderful stay in Tigh-na-Craeg, with its beautiful pool and lovely setting.

The house itself comfortably took all eight of us, and the kitchen and living room were a welcome refuge from the heat and a bit of peace and quiet (kids notwithstanding).

David was very helpful, even getting us reservations at the local bbq in a Bourdeilles on Tuesday nights, which I would highly recommended.

We found both Brantome and Bourdeilles (10 minutes) exquisite and there markets all over the area. We also visited Perigueux (30 minutes) for the main market held across squares around the old town.

Hope to return soon. Thanks for the great time!

A great stay in this lovely home with all the amenities you could need, especially the brilliant pool which was used at least once a day through the week! The rest of us just lounged around reading books.

Very spacious property which was more than big enough for our family of five and with the extra mezzanine accommodation would have suited two families together easily - a thought for next time! Wifi and a selection of books/toys kept teenagers occupied in the middle hours of the hot days.

Comfortable beds and a lovely living room with English channels for a quick catch up on BBC News to make sure we didn't totally retreat from life! We didn't need to use the indoor dining area as we lived outside most of the time. The outdoor kitchen area was great for BBQs and eating al fresco.

On the subject of food, a lovely local boulangerie 5 minutes drive away and supermarkets about 15 minutes away so we were kept well stocked.

For those who want to get out and about there's village life (Bourdeilles, beautiful village with castles), town vibes (Brantome market was great) and a city fix (Perigueux wirh parks, shops and 'miniature train tour').

A warm welcome when we arrived from David - thanks for a great holiday.

We had a great holiday at Tigh-na-Craeg. The house is situated in a quiet village surrounded by farmland, not far from the beautiful village of Bourdeilles, with its stunning chateau and picturesque riverside setting. David gave us a great welcome and had thoughtfully bought us everything we might need for our first day and night because it was Bastille day and the shops were closed. As David showed us round we realised how lovely the house was. Tigh-na-Craeg has been beautifully furnished and fitted with everything you need for your stay. It has a big kitchen with a large table and eating area. Very spacious living room with tv and a beautiful separate dining table. Very comfortable beds in the bedrooms and even an extra "chilling out" area on the mezzanine. Outside the pool is fantastic, with its own BBQ and eating area. Two large tables and plenty of seats around the pool to lounge on. While we were there the pool was kept at a very comfortable temperature for swimming and was spotlessly clean, with an easy cover to use at night time. We spent most of our time eating outside in the BBQ area by the pool. We loved exploring the Chateau at Bourdeilles and enjoyed sitting at the lovely cafe opposite with its two friendly black labradors and watching the world go by. Had a great afternoon with "allo canoes" based in Brantome - great fun navigating the weirs! Would def. recommend Tigh-na-Craeg and would love to come back again.
