The French Country Cottages - Les Chouettes Cottage and Barn is nestled in a bend of the Dordogne River.

The Farmhouse is typically Perigordian, with the high roof top and a sway. Both the Farmhouse and Barn back onto a walnut orchard. We are located in the hamlet of Nardoux, 1km from the well known village of Tremolat. The village is situated between Sarlat and Bergerac. We are perfectly situated to explore the Dordogne Valley.
This beautifully restored farmhouse and barn is located 500 metres from the Dordogne River. It is a paradise for walkers, cyclists, birders, and fishermen.

Do you love to try out new recipes with lovely fresh ingredients? Beautiful markets are in easy driving distance from this property offering superb ingredients to tempt your taste buds.

The swimming pool has a view over the Walnut orchard and may be shared with the barn should you be renting both the cottage and the barn. There are 4 outdoor living areas which enable you to eat outside; either next to the pool, on the patio or in the garden. You will love all that Les Chouettes has to offer as well as the area.
Rent the Cottage on its own for a cosy week away or with the Barn for large groups.
Tremolat village hosts 5 restaurants. We are very proud of our resident Chef Vincent at the well known Michelin Star restaurant in the Hotel Le Vieux Logis. Our Bistro de la face has also been awarded a Michelin star should you wish to sample some delicious simple fare. The pizzeria - Nulle Part has a great menu for families should you wish to enjoy a quick meal. Les Tartines is one of our favourites as it offers smaller dishes and fabulous wines.

Kitchen and dining

The kitchen area at The Farmhouse can be best described as the heart of the home. Perfectly capturing the French charm, this kitchen is where everyone gathers for deliciously prepared meals. The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove top, oven, fridge-freezer, kettle, coffee-maker, toaster, country table, crockery, cutlery for 14 and barbecue utensils.

Living rooms

We have a cosy living room in The Farmhouse.The main lounge is equipped with a flat screen tv, dvd player with selection of dvd's, a satellite box for our English speaking guests and the Orange box for great French movies or English converted movies. A music system for your enjoyment as well as some boardgames for those rainy days.

Bedrooms

In The Farmhouse we have 4 bedrooms. (Changeover days may be on any day)
There are 2 bedrooms each with a comfortable queen size bed and one bedroom with a double bed, and one bedroom that has twin beds that can be converted into a king size bed.

Bathrooms

In The Farmhouse: Upstairs is a shower room toilet and basin.
Downstairs has a bath, shower, toilet and basin.

Heating

We have wall heaters throughout and a fireplace to warm The Farmhouse.

Entertainment

There is a flat screen tv in the main lounge, with both English satellite tv channels and French tv.
There is also a dvd player and an assortment of dvd's as well as a music centre for your enjoyment.
If you have Netflix account we also have a Chrome Cast pod and a Firestick for you to watch your favourite movies on the tv screen.

Garden and outside

There is a lovely secluded pool which overlooks the walnut orchard. We have a volleyball net and table tennis table for you to challenge your family and friends. Ten bicycles for a peddle through the countryside.

There is plenty of on-site parking.

The cottage is great for any guests. From family get-togethers, friends who would like to congregate in one spot, or for you to have a quiet time on your own with that special loved one. Rent with the barn (ask for prices) for your extended family or friend groups.

Beynac Castle

30 kms
The Beynac Castle is not to be missed. This castle is strategically placed so that the occupants may keep an eye on the English in the Castelnaud Castle on the opposite side of the river during the 100 years war.

Sarlat la Caneda

Visit this typical medieval village and all it has to offer in particularly on a Wednesday and Saturday when they have the best market!!

Visit Limeuil

This quaint village is only 7 kms from The French Country Cottage. Put your walking shoes on and take the time to climb to the top and enjoy the beautiful view of the Dordogne river below.
At the bottom is our favourite spot - we love to sit with a beautiful glass of Bergerac wine and enjoy the view of the two rivers (The Dordogne and the Vezere Rivers) come together and continue as one river the Dordogne.
