Helen and I have travelled frequently in southern Europe but have always had a soft spot for the south of France and fell in love with the Dordogne when we first discovered the beautiful countryside, culture and french way of life a few years ago. We had been looking for a property in the South of France for a few years and, after several visits to Provence and the Dordogne, we stumbled across 'Red Shutters'. Having seen many properties up to that point, we knew immediately it was 'the one'.

|Why this location?||The Dordogne is beautiful and this location is nestled in a quiet village, close to the Rivers of the Dorodgne and the Vezere, castles, chateaus, wine tasting, canoeing, historic caves all so close by. The weather is gorgeous in Spring and early Autumn. Plenty of restaurants nearby from a local Auberge to a Michelen star gourmet meal are all for exploring. There is so much to see and do that you will have to come back a few times to try it all! The french are very friendly and happy for you to have a go at the local language no matter how good or bad it is.|
|Unique benefits of property||A Heated pool 10m x 5m (no freezing water to dip your toes into if you want a dip) which has a retractable cover called an Arbri which is closed overnight and keeps the heat in - you can also swim under the raised cover if you want some shade from the sun or if a sprinkle of rain floats by. There is a heated hot tub, which is a favourite of all our guests - sipping champagne/wine at night looking up at the beautiful clear skies/stars at night is a must for everyone to try out.|
Local vegetables, strawberries, wine, cheese, bread etc all on display in this quintessential french village - just 5 minutes drive away.
