Violette was a fantastic cottage with plenty of room - and although not directly opening onto or in view of the pool it has a courtyard next to the very quiet road allowing a great private space away from the other side of the building.
Mike and Pauline were very welcoming and helpful with all of our needs - even providing a few extras provisions for us - as we arrived on Sunday night without chance to shop beforehand.
The pool was large and plenty warm enough with the sunshine and temperatures we had.
WiFi was restricted to certain areas of the whole site - mainly closer to the pool - but we managed.
A great place to stay and unwind amongst the vines.
Local shops at Sainte Foy only a 10min drive.

Violette has accommodation for 7 but we were only five. I was very pleased to have the small room to myself with a separate loo and shower to myself. My daughter, her husband and the two children used the upstairs bathroom. All rooms were very clean with plenty of cooking pans and utensils. In addition there were games for children and grown ups as well as the television and a good selection of books and a whole basket of pamphlets showing local things to do. Our timetable was to take the grandchildren riding every morning, go to the supermarket to buy lunch and dinner and then come home for lunch either in or on the terrace. After lunch the children learnt to swim in the immaculate swimming pool. Initially it was quite cold but after a few days warmed up nicely. It is not chlorinated so there was no smell or red eyes. Violette met or exceeded my expectations in every way and Mike and Pauline very generously provided wine, milk and basic cleaning stuff on arrival. I would unhesitatingly recommend Violette to any young family.

Lovely setting surrounded by all the vineyards you could every need! Our hosts were
great and looked after us really well, they were on hand to answer any questions we had.
The pool was great, giving all ages hours of fun. We brought bikes with us and had many an earlier morning cycle ride.
Plenty of activities for all locally, including canoeing, go karting, local markets and wine tasting!
The local markets seem to occur most days and evenings, with great cheeses, fruit and veg and more wine!
We all had a very relaxing two weeks and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others, hope to visit again.

Good points
Excellent base for discovering the area. Very clean, especially the pool area. Very helpful owners.

Bad points
Need a car as nowhere within walking distance. Could do with updating. Poor internet connection and only via communal computor in utilty room by the pool. Only one microwave in the communal area not in gites. Small tv.
