The house is located amongst the vineyards ( up to the pool) in a quiet hamlet called Massugas.
Haut Rigaleau was built in 1851 of lovely sand coloured local stone, keeping the house nice and cool in hot summer sun. The house has its traditional shutters also keeping the place cool. To the rear of the house we have a stone hangar, this is a great area for table tennis, table football.
The property sleeps 8, we feel ideal for young families, it has 2 double rooms with size 160 beds and two small bedrooms suitable for children with 2 x single beds.
The house has internet access throughout.
The front garden leading off the large covered terrace is private, with plenty of room for the trampoline, swing and other garden games. To the side of the property is ample parking space for two cars. Leading out from the front door under the covered terrace, there are provided table and chairs, to one side under covert for your al fresco dining, we offer a bbq and gas Plancha.
Through the front door into the hall, with stairs leading to the bedrooms, all bedrooms are located upstairs.The house has a spacious large double dining through to living room room, with huge sofas, terracotta floors. Dining table for eight, fireplaces tv 55 inch HD, satellite, sky+ , dvd, games. The French windows open from the lounge onto the lawn.
Swimming pool is located across the driveway.
The kitchen is of medium size with stone fireplace and log burner. Floors are in terracotta tiles with an original big corner cupboard for dry store.
Cooking is on a range with 2 ovens and separate grill all electric, the 5 burners are gas. Microwave is provided and american style fridge with two freezer draws. Having come from a catering background we have filled the kitchen with plenty of utensils and sharp knives.
Coffee there is a choice, bean to cup machine, cafetière or stove top expresso, milk, hot or cold frother.
Kitchen has room for 4 at the table and the dining room plenty of room for 8 around the table.
Living room is very spacious, terracotta flooring throughout, two large comfy sofas, large tv with Sky family package, dvd player and sound bar. In the cupboard there are plenty of games.
The lounge has a marble fireplace with an insert log burner. Shelving provides a huge selection of books for anyone who still reads them!

Bedroom 2 - 1 queen, size160 bed with topper, en suite shower with dual access from landing for smaller bedrooms if required.
All the bedrooms are located upstairs, this year we have furnished the doubles with new larger beds and new matresses,the master double room has terracotta tile floor,bath and shower,the beams are exposed and the room furnished with a selection of antique and modern furnishings. The 2nd double bedroom, new bed and matress, has parquet flooring,shower room accessed from the bedroom (this shower room and toilet can also be accessed from the landing). The 3rd and 4th bedrooms have two single beds, very suitable for children.
Bedroom 1 en suite, has a bath and overhead shower with vanity unit and toilet.
Bedroom 2 has en suite allowing for either exclusive use or shared use with twin rooms, has shower, vanity unit and toilet.
On the ground floor good size shower and vanity unity with independent toilet.
The house has central heating and two log burners.
Water is heated, by solar thermodynamic system.
Large tv with Sky family package and soundbar. Dvd player, Apple tv, wi-fi internet, Internet radio, books, games.
The property has a large front garden, suitable for ball games, badminton, boules, trampoline and childs swing. To the side of the house is ample parking space for 2 cars, the garage we have made into a suitable play area for children and at the rear is a stone built covered hangar excellent on hot days for the table tennis or table football.
The pool is located across the drive from the house. It measures 10x5 is a salt pool with electric security cover. The deep end is at 2 meters and shallowing to 1 meter, where the in water steps provide access to the pool.There is a generous terrace surrounding the pool and has sun loungers, parasols and a wooden arbour providing shade.
Under the large covered terrace to the front of the house, conveniently located near the kitchen! we offer 2 styles of al fresco cooking for the chefs,Weber gas bbq and gas Plancha.

The area has much to offer for all.
We have wonderful Night Markets during July and August, fun for all, stalls of amazing choice of foods and local wines. Children have plenty to see and do at these markets and all with live music to entertain all the family.
St Emilion is a must, with a walk around the beautiful village and its historic buildings, all finished with a trip on the open air train around the famous chateaux, giving you the opportunity to buy some amazing wines.
Bordeaux is a very exciting city, very accessible by car or Tramway, it's not to be missed.
We have 2 local villages with their historic quarters. Gensac and Pellegrue. Both have supermarkets and Gensac offers 2 bar/restaurants,boulangeric,pharmacy and doctors.
During the high season there are plenty of Brocante normally held on a sunday morning. The area has excellent markets with lovely fresh local produce and certainly worth a day out to visit, are the sites of The Dordogne valley visiting Bergerac on the way.
Canoes are available 5 km from the house on the Dordogne river, they provide all you need along with the transport to location. Bike hire can also be available here or delivered to the house.
This summer, we have a new Parcours park suitable for all ages with minimum height restriction, it has a super zip wire, small place to purchase snacks and seating area for those who wish to watch or just relax. The whole area is in the shade of the woods and is 14 mins from the house.
David and myself bought the lovely farmhouse in 2002, we both come from restaurant background and hope the equipped kitchen shows that!

To the rear we have undercover area big enough for table tennis, table football and other games.Plenty of toys are provided for the younger children and babies well catered for.
If you wish to eat out on your holiday, there is our local village of Gensac, at the house we have a list of recommendations of restaurants. It has 2 great bar/restaurants.
Night markets during July and August in some villages.
St Emilion and wonderful markets of fresh fruits, vegetables, fish. Canoe or Bike Hire at 5 km. Bordeaux not to be missed under any circumstances. St Emilion is not to be missed with its lovely shops and historic buildings to visit, why not take the little open train on its journey around the famous vineyards.
Night Markets are a must, lots of food choice from the stalls,childrens entertainment, live music, something for all the family.
We have new Parcours 12 minutes away with zip wire,this summer one of our guests made 4 visits! Parents and children all taking part.
