|La Grange Cerise||Self Catering||Flexible||3||8||3||Additional bedroom can be available for 2 people|
A renovated French barn completed 2016. Approaching from the 2 acres of Cherry Orchard garden, a huge open plan living space invites you in - cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Brand new bathrooms and kitchen and furniture blend in with ancient stone walls and beams giving you comfort along with a sense of 'period features'.
A fully functional 'home', La Grange Cerise gives you wifi throughout, English TV channels, french doors leading directly onto the back terrace with uninterrupted views of our surrounding vineyards. The space easily caters for eight people - a gas bbq on the terrace of an evening accompanied with wine made with grapes grown within view is a must!
The area is a 'dark sky' region, so lends itself to star watching of an evening - a fantastic way to end an evening at a local night market.
Open plan living space includes a completely functional kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine range cooker and coffee machine.
The dining area seats up to 10 people, but if you have friends visiting then move outside to the terrace where the tables will happily accommodate 12!
Living space is open plan - there is a corner 'cosy space' with large screen to dvd with surround sound.
Opposite the kitchen space is a secondary socialising area to relax in.
Three very large bedrooms each with contemporary integral shower room. Fitted with hanging space and drawers, and radiators if the nights are chilly in the winter.
The two upstairs bedrooms have a king size bed and an additional single bed. If required the singles can be moved into one bedroom.
Bedroom One downstairs can be two singles or made up as a king size also. This bedroom is wheelchair accessible if needed.
Each shower room has a contemporary modern finish with easy access showers with screens.
A 12kw log burner centrally placed heats the whole barn in the winter.
Additional radiators are in each bedroom and shower however to allow a 'tailored' temperature for each space.
In the high season, night markets 'abound' in neighbouring towns such as Duras, Eymet and Levignac, with food and entertainment for all tastes. If you prefer, you can explore the beautiful area on bikes or by foot or even canoe on the Dordogne!
We are 30 minutes from Lac Du Gurson - great for a 'beach experience' with kids!
We can arrange a variety of wine tours / tastings for you and even book restaurant tables to help you make the most of your holiday.
Whilst on-site you have a variety of board games for adults and children, a huge, varied, and up to date Dvd selection, Boules and Badminton for the garden.
A large terrace with seating for up to 12 people. 2 acres of Cherry Orchard and of course the exclusive swimming pool just behind the living space.
We have Boules, Badminton and a couple of Hybrid bikes all at your disposal.
The garden itself leads directly to a number of walks allowing you to explore vineyards and woods, or even walk up the road 2 km to Margueron to get your morning baguette!!
Parking immediately behind for three cars. If you have visitors don't worry - the garden can cope with that!
Since we opened, we have catered/welcomed groups from three to eleven people. All ages have enjoyed their stay - we have supplied toys for families with children, we have catered for babies with cot and high chair, and because the ground floor is all on one level, we have enabled wheelchair / reduced mobility accessibility.
If you want a peaceful location, if you want accommodation with modern facilities, if you like wine, golf, spas, walking or bike rides then please feel free to enquire!
If on arrival or any day during your stay you would like meals cooked for you just inquire - we are only too aware that arriving late in an evening doesn't inspire you to start cooking!
If you would benefit from an extra bedroom / shower room for 2 more people just ask us about our Chambre D'Hote room next door - it is a rather plush extra space but only a few steps away from the Gite!
We have made several links to commercial partners so can offer a number of discounts during your stay - it may be your ferry crossing, a wine tasting, a restaurant or a visit to a medieval chateau if on our website it isn't listed let us know and we will try our best for you.
We (Julie and Andy Dark) bought La Grange Cerise, a derelict French Farm in 2013 then spent two years renovating all the buildings to create a desirable holiday destination and a home for ourselves. It was a big change from our lives in UK working in education, but it was worth it! We now enjoy working hard to make it possible for visitors/guests to have the best possible holiday experience.

|Why this location?||After a search for the right sort of property, we finally 'homed in' on a very small area where we felt the environment, the access and the benefits to our guests were all perfect ... Where we ended up felt absolutely right the moment we first viewed - much to the surprise of the agents! We are surrounded by vineyards, idyllic views and beautifully restful. We can drink a variety of wines which are so closely produced we could have watched the grapes growing! Yet ... We are just ten minutes away from Night Markets in the summer and a big supermarket for provisions.|
|Unique benefits of property||Just four years ago, the barn was an agricultural building, unchanged for 200 years. It now provides beautiful accommodation for up to 8 people, or if combined with a chambre d'hote room, 10 people. Contemporary shower rooms and kitchen amidst 200 year old stone walls and Oak beams.
The living space is massive - a great benefit on summer days when it remains cool ... The 2 acres of Cherry Orchard garden provide a luxurious feeling of 'space' ... the exclusive swimming pool ideal for cooling off on the hot summer days.
Just 10 minutes drive away, this restaurant provides an amazing experience! Many courses, amazing cheese board and different wines with each course.
All of our guests who have visited have been impressed!
4km away, guests have always come away feeling it was a great tour, a great talk and great wine. We put a lot of emphasis on the 'back story' and the staff are excellent at ensuring visitors have every question answered.
For guests that want access to all of our beautiful countryside, we would thoroughly recommend this company who deliver and pick up, and provide all the safety gear as well. (Even free child bikes with adult bike hire!)
The prices are very reasonable ... The hybrid bikes are our recommendation.
John-Christophe will go out of his way to ensure your meal is perfect! Just 5 minutes away, you have access to a truly authentic French experience - vegetarian and vegan options are available.
If you want to experience a 'family' run vineyard dedicated to organic and now vegetarian labeled wine, then we can recommend a tour and a tasting with Paul and Kirsty. Chollet is just 5 minutes drive away in a neighbouring village.
