Known as Little Venice, an historic medieval market town where the rivers Dordogne and Drone meet to surround the town. With its boutiques, restaurants, café and bars where you can relax and watch the activities on the rivers. Every Friday is market day. Canoeing is very popular here, well recommended for a visit.
The park has 7 courses with increasing difficulty (yellow, green, bleu, orange , red, black and ultra black), including about 70 games (bridges, tarzan ropes, climbing nets, zip wires…), enabling you to climb up to 12m high for the most reckless! The Espace Hermeline also has an activity for younger children, from 4 years old and a meter high, which enables them to discover new sensations on a unique course. For those of you who are nocturnal, we can organize late nights with headlamps. Reservation only. Demanding little or no technique, this activity gives you an original access to the woodland. It enables you to discover the trees and their environment in a new way. It’s the ideal way of bringing together a fun activity and a natural environment. Exclusive in the Limousin! Have a sensational time crossing the lake on a TYROCABLE. Leave from a platform situated 23m above the water and slide down the 400m long cable to reach speeds which can go up to 70km/h. For your comfort and safety, there are gloves and helmets at your disposal.
Dordogne is beautiful, with it’s breathtaking countryside, lakes, rivers and pretty quaint villages. We have prehistoric caves and sights, impressive châteaux, castles and medieval towns. With plenty to keep the whole family occupied and happy.
Situated on the riverside of the Vienne, with original settlements that date back to Roman times, the city is known for it’s fine porcelain and painted enamelware, cultural activities and botanical gardens. The city has celebrated its 2000th anniversary and is rich in cultural history with many museums, symphonies and theatres. Porcelain and fine china was developed in the 18th century out of enamel work which began in the middle ages. Visit the many shops and tour the working factories.
We have seven lovely, safe, swimming lakes nearby with man made clean beaches and grassed play areas. The lakes have designated swimming area’s with separate sectioned off area for non-swimmers and younger children. All these lakes are life guarded in the summer months. All have free parking and toilet facilities, most even have café/restaurants. Some of these lake have diving platforms, canoe’s, kayaks and pedalo’s and children’s play area’s. It’s just like the day at the beach but nicer.
We have just returned from our first winter break in an area we know well, and visit regularly. We could not have chosen better accommodation for the crisp and chilly temperatures.
Right from the outset Leigh and Dave were as warm, welcoming and accommodating as their fabulous farmhouse turned out to be. The farmhouse was kitted out perfectly for winter – a roaring woodburner, cosy duvets and throws, electric radiators in all rooms all made the farmhouse extremely comfortable for a winter stay.
All of this, in addition to a beautiful renovation, in immaculate condition with high spec equipment throughout. From the fantastic range cooker, oak kitchen,, ensuite bathrooms and useful utility, every need is catered for which made our visit an absolute pleasure.
Looking at the fabulous swimming pool and the lovely private surroundings its clear that the farmhouse would be equally amazing in the summer.
If you are looking for French character accommodation at a luxury standard, in a fabulous area with plenty to do, you couldn’t choose better.
