We have just spent a wonderful fortnight in this lovely gite. Peaceful, relaxing, away from it all. The photographs don’t do it justice. We had two teenage girls with us and they made good use of the pool which is a lovely temperature and they were still in it after 9pm one evening!

The owners live in the farmhouse next to the gite and are so helpful but not intrusive at all.

Lots of lovely places to visit which are not too far away such as Lordes and Pau and the White Water Stadium near Pau is worth a visit. We attempted the rafting which was great fun.

I would highly recommend this property.

The pictures for the Gite do not do this place justice , you are in for a pleasant surprise .
The owners Bill & Undine are simply fabulous and offer you a warm welcome with insights and tips on the region . This is simply a slice of heaven , where you can relax and unwind , next to the immaculate pool and well-maintained gardens .
We have been renting Gites all-over France the last 10 years and this is for sure the best one we ever visited .
We will for sure recommend Lou Campet to all our friends and family .

The cottage was lovely, in a beautiful quiet setting, with views across the fields. It is both comfortable and well equipped. The pool was nicely refreshing on a hot afternoon. Undine and Bill could not have been more gracious hosts. We found a few very nice restaurants about 15-20 minutes drive away, in either Lembeye or Madiran The cottage is in the middle of the Madiran wine area so there was plenty of vineyards to visit.

We’ve just come back from 2 wonderful weeks spent at Lou Campet. The gite itself was beautifully quirky, clean and comfortable and had all of the kitchen gadgets we could need to make everything from beef bourginon to cakes and puddings. We had brought our own Fire Stick and were able to watch a film at night via the WiFi connection provided which kept my teenagers happy. The surroundings are just idyllic, the garden and grounds beautifully kept and alive with butterflies, bees, the cutest little lizards and the occasional vole. At night we were sure we heard wolves in the distance and spotted both the nesting owl and the odd bat flying overhead. The weather was amazing and the occasional storm just added some drama: we sat some nights on the patio and tracked the progress of impressive thunder and lightning displays crossing the horizon and providing some welcome cool in the night. The pool, which had been a major draw for us was used every day, the temperature was just right and being salt water meant it was more pleasant to use than a chlorinated pool.

The countryside around the property is a mixture of vineyards and crops of sunflowers and cornfields. Little villages close by with boulangeries and a supermarket about 11 miles away mean everything is accessible enough once driving on the right is mastered!

Bill and Undine kindly started us off with some provisions and were unswervingly kind, patient and helpful throughout our stay. Would highly recommend.
