|Why this location?||Hendaye is a very quiet and family oriented city. Once in Hendaye-Plage you can walk or bike your way around. There is a sailing club, a tennis club, numerous surf school (of course we have our favorite we will tell you), a great beach with gentle beginner waves, cabins rental on the beach for families with younger kids and 2 beach kids club. There are plenty of inland hiking opportunities with water sport opportunities and breathtaking sceneries. And to top it all the Basque gastronomy is a great mix of French and Spanish culture which makes every farmers market or restaurant a culinary delight.|
|Unique benefits of property||Our house is located in a quiet dead-end street. It has the lovely feel of a summer house where you push open the shutters and feel already in vacation while being very confortable and equipped to modern standards. We have a huge private terrasse in the back of the house where there is a ping pong table and outdoor sofas. In front of the house there is a balcony to enjoy the view. Our house has 5 lovely bedrooms and 4 bathrooms (2 with bathtubs), hardwood floor and tiles, a small patch of garden in front and parking spaces for up to 3-4 cars.|
We love the fact Hendaye is a border city with part of its soul in Spain and the other in France. When we are in Hendaye, we take a small regular boat to cross the river and go to Spain for early evening snacks and sangria. The boat ride is less than 10mn and that's all it takes to feel in another country. We also love to take the train (8mn walking distance from our house) and go to St Jean de Luz (10mn train ride), in the opposite direction. It's a very French city with a main cobblestoned street filled with pastry shops, local linen stores and a sumptuous quiet beach. If you choose to come, you can visit the Tourism Office located on the beach front facing the old casino in Hendaye (12mn walking distance from our house) and the lovely people there will direct you to all the possible hikes ... and the Abadie castle visit as well ... There are so much to do in Hendaye, it is nearly impossible to list them all: sailing classes, paddle class, tennis lessons, surf lessons. There is even in Hendaye a small theatre with an art deco facade worth to challenge your French to get the old days cinema feelings.
