Near Buzet, you can hire your own small boat for a day or half day, take a picnic and meander slowly along the tree-lined water-ways of this UNESCO World Heritage site travelling through ancient locks and past elegant waterside buildings and beautiful fields and orchards. Take the opportunity to stop and enjoy a coffee or lunch at one of the nearby, river or canal-side villages.
American Six Flags Amusement/Water Park for the whole family to enjoy, with exciting and exotic water rides/slides, water bumper cars, performing sea lions, water acrobats, a ferris wheel, a roller coaster, and a circus
Picturesque ancient bastide hilltop village with a warren of tiny, steep lanes, lined with immaculate stone and brick houses. It has several restaurants and bars; L’Air du Temps & La Maison Sur la Place in particular, are extremely good and highly recommended. Bar Fabien is great for entrecote & frites, duck dishes, fantastic salads and other mouth-watering meals and is very child friendly. There are fantastic views from the medieval church at the top of the hill
There were physical problems with the size of the property - head height in bedrooms and bathroom. There was no Sky TV reception throughout our stay (14 days). Pool was v. cold even in over 30 degree C heat; only the insects seemed to like it. Too far to shop/facilities and recycling took a long walk or drive. Mainly "disappointing".
We're very sorry that these guests had a few issues with our property.
The Gite is an old property and has some low beams, most of our previous guests have found these to be a 'character' feature of the property.
The Sky is free to air therefore all standard channels can be received, Cheryl and I were at La Croix de Loubas 2 days before the guests arrived in mid May and had no issues at all.
The pool is heated by the sun and was only opened a week before the guests arrived, it seems it didn't have time to warm up for which we do apologise. By late May early June the water will be at a very comfortable temperature for swimming.
We are only a short drive to the local shops, 5 minutes and 10 minutes to the large supermarkets, or a 15 minute cycle to a local boulangerie. Not sure what the real issue is here as the property is in a small rural hamlet in a lovely part of France.
