About this property

Luxury Cottage with Large Saltwater Private Pool. This cottage/gite is in a rural setting.

Caday Rouge is a luxury retreat consisting of a Manor House (which is not let), a Cottage/Farmhouse, a beautiful large barn which dates back to 1862 and a beautiful, large, heated salt-water swimming pool. This is set within 2 acres of mature, well kept gardens and the serene, tranquil countryside. The cottage can sleep up to six people very comfortably plus a baby (we have a travel cot available).

Situated in the Lot-et-Garonne, Aquitaine area of South West France, we are perfectly located just 50 metres from the very large Lot River, which is a fisherman’s paradise. It flows through some of the most scenic locations and is 480km in distance and can reach 80-150m wide. The Lot is also renowned for it's carp, which are born and bred in the river.

Caday Rouge Cottage is a beautiful 19th Century Quercy Stone Farmhouse and was totally renovated just 5 years ago. The stone façade of this charming large self-catering farmhouse belies the modern and stylish interiors within. The glass-fronted living room, the specially crafted oak staircase, the vaulted beams throughout and the spacious kitchen are just a few of the great mix of modern and rustic, whilst preserving the character of the farmhouse. Everything in the cottage has been carefully thought out and considered to enable our guests to relax and enjoy their holiday. We feel we can provide a luxury getaway for you and your family and friends, much more than just another self-catering holiday accommodation. Our aim is to provide you with family-run hospitality, comfort and relaxation in a stylish retreat. Our passion is inviting guests to experience this and leave fully refreshed and revitalised, having thoroughly enjoyed their precious holiday time with their families and friends.

The cottage contains 3 double bedrooms all located on the first floor. The ground floor contains a large fully equipped kitchen, dining area and a large lounge area with Sky TV and tasteful furnishings throughout and also a separate bathroom. Wi-fi is also available free of charge.

There is also a large terrace for outside dining during the summer months.

Caday Rouge offers luxurious living in a private paradise within easy reach of a good selection of activities, very welcoming villages with shops, bars and restaurants and breath-taking views through the French countryside. We are in the hamlet of St Vite, set amongst fruit farms in true rural France, but only a 5 minute drive to the village of Monsempron Libos, which amongst other shops has a number of bakeries, a small supermarket, hairdressers and a couple of very amiable and welcoming restaurant bars. There is also an extremely good, very popular traditional market in the square throughout the year on Thursday mornings. In the village of Fumel, just another 5 minutes away, amongst many other shops there are three large supermarkets and also a small local produce market is held along the main road every Sunday morning.

Throughout the summer months on different days of the week, our local towns put on very entertaining evening markets which are very popular with locals and visitors alike. These consist of food stalls, entertainment, music, dancing, produce sale - something for everyone and very enjoyable.

Offering all year round accommodation,

Bergerac airport is just 50 minutes away, Toulouse only 90 minutes with many low-cost airlines arriving and departing daily.

We are Patsy and Trevor and we first visited this area of South West France 30 years ago. After falling in love with the area, the climate, the people and the culture here, we bought our own home in 2003.  We have been very happily running a Gite and Chambre d'hôtes business since 2007 and really enjoy sharing our piece of paradise with guests who come here to enjoy their precious holidays in our beautiful home and surroundings and leave as great friends.

Why this location? We believe this is one of the most beautiful and interesting areas in France. Around every bend you are met with stunning views, amazing scenery and countryside, and striking architectural châteaux and various styled homes, scattered between fields of radiant sunflowers and crops. We are surrounded by many old and beautiful villages and towns and medieval bastides saturated in such history that even if you weren't particularly interested before, you find yourself consumed in the stories these places tell. We can’t think of a better place to be!
