About the Owner, Mrs Patsy Gingell

We are Patsy and Trevor and we first visited this area of South West France 30 years ago when Trevor's parents had a home here. After falling in love with the area, the climate, the people and the culture here, we bought our own home in 2003.  We have been very happily running a Gite and Chambre d'hôtes business since 2007 and really enjoy sharing our piece of paradise with guests who come here to enjoy their precious holidays in our beautiful home and surroundings and leave as great friends.

Year property purchased 2003
Why this location? We believe this is one of the most beautiful and interesting areas in France. Around every bend you are met with stunning views, amazing scenery and countryside, and striking architectural châteaux and various styled homes, scattered between fields of radiant sunflowers and crops. We are surrounded by many old and beautiful villages and towns and medieval bastides saturated in such history that even if you weren't particularly interested before, you find yourself consumed in the stories these places tell. Even to us having been here for many years, the beauty, the views, the history and the wildlife never ceases to make us catch our breath in admiration and wonder. We can’t think of a better place to be!
Unique benefits of property Caday Rouge is a beautiful 1900's Stone Manor House and 19th Century Quercy Stone Farmhouse accompanied by a large Barn (dating back to 1862).  These are set within 2 acres of mature, well-kept tranquil gardens, hosting a large, heated, salt-water swimming pool, a gym and a games room.  These all nestle peacefully among delightful gardens and the serene countryside.<br/>The swimming pool (checked and cleaned daily) is 14 metres long by 6.5 metres wide and 1 metre leading to 2.5 metres deep with a 1 metre high ledge all the way around for safety and comfort.  It is a heated salt-water pool which generates its own chlorine when required and is very pleasant and healthy for you and your skin.  The pools large terraces are equipped with parasols, sun loungers and seating for your comfort and enjoyment.  These are surrounded by beautiful flowers, herbs, palm trees and hedges. Permits are called 'Carte de Pêche' and come in a number of forms including: 'Carte Journalière', for one day’s fishing in 2nd Category waters and 'Carte Vacances', for 15 days consecutive day’s fishing from June 1st to September

10 / 10 holidayhungry 6 September, 2014

We had a wonderful stay at Caday Cottage, Patsy and Trev made us feel welcome and at ease from the start with a great tour of the property and grounds and we were soon settled in feeling very much at home in their beautiful cottage which was immaculate and catered for our every need. Inside the cottage not only were the essentials provded for but there was plenty for the kids to entertain themselves, drawing their attention away from their tablets and photes etc.. They enjoyed the puzzles, games and challenging eachother on the Wii, plus being able to watch films in the evening.

By day the pool area was perfect which we all enjoyed immensely being able to relax in such a tranquil piece of paradise. The location is prime with great views and the bonus of the river which we enjoyed visiting daily. We travelled out and about a bit oo during our stay seeing most of the local attractions and also enjoyed playing mini golf and go-karting.

The whole family had a really fantastic time and we shall definitely be recommending you to our close friends and family.
