This property preserves its original features and has a beautifully proportioned interior. It is a must for large groups or sharing families celebrating a special occasion or simply enjoying a holiday together,whatever the reason for your visit we guarantee this grand house will help create wonderful memories. Boasting a beautiful kitchen with an impressive hand-cut stone fireplace, here you can enjoy a morning croissant from the many boulangeries in the village or an aperitif before walking to one of the local restaurants or café bars. A bustling traditional French market is held each Monday morning.

Property Details
This large stone built house is refreshingly cool inside in summer especially important for young children to escape the strong mid-day sun. A baby package is available on request, including a high chair, sterilizer, cot with bedding and a buggy. We are an Irish family with 3 children and we endeavor to provide those items that will make your stay with us as stress free and as enjoyable as possible. When you arrive you will receive,as our guest, a special welcome pack which includes cheese, pate, baguettes, fruit and of course bottles of wine, (tea, coffee, sugar and milk are also provided). The ground floor bedroom is suitable for people with reduced mobility; however the house is not suitable for wheelchairs.

The garden
The large private heated pool (10x5 metre) is perfect for chilling on a lilo spending your day relaxing or playing water sports!!! The covered terrace is safe and secure, walled sunny garden has plenty of palms trees should you wish to find a shady corner to relax with a good book. There is the wilderbeest play centre, popular getaway "Teribithia" for kids and teenagers - where they can chill safely, away from the adults. It’s got books, toys and games. A selection of outdoor ride on toys are provided for use in the garden to keep the little kiddies very happy. There is a barbecue area, shaded patio area with plenty of garden furniture.There is also secure private parking on site.

Miramont de Guyenne is a French Bastide town with lots of amenities and things to do throughout the Summer months.

Miramont has a hyper market and numerous supermarkets and smaller shops with 24hr petrol stations. There are butchers, bakers, tabacs, banks, doctors, dentists and a post office.
The centre of the town is newly renovated and the many events that are held in the town, spill from the centre down the side streets. A number of circuses and amusements come to town throughout the summer and bicycle races are held along the boulevard.
The area is famous for its orchards, vineyards and sunflower fields – a perfect place to explore by car, foot or bike. Night markets are held in Miramont and the surrounding villages, selling local produce but these are also an opportunity for all the villagers and tourists to get together, eat local produce cooked on site, drink the local wines purchased from the market vendors and enjoy musical entertainment throughout the evening.

There are many fetes and wine fairs in other local towns which again provide great opportunities to eat, drink, dance and soak up the unique atmosphere and French hospitality. During the summer months, there are many Festivals and Fetes in the surrounding areas. For example on the first weekend in August, there is the famous Miramont Bastide d'Art street festival with its professional acts and street performers.
Music lovers, on the first weekend of July, will enjoy the Monsegur Jazz Festival which takes place 15 minutes drive away.

Miramont has a picturesque fishing lake and many sports facilities including soccer, rugby, tennis, basketball, badminton and handball, also in July and August horse riding, canoeing, biking and tree top activities. Within 5 minutes walk there is a sparkling clean municipal pool centre which has 3 pools for all ages with table tennis tables and a sweet shop.

In the surrounding area
Duras and Eymet are close by. There are lots of beautiful Bastide towns, all with colourful markets (Miramont has one of the largest and best in the area), one to fill every day of the week, and all within an hours drive. 35 minutes drive will get you into the gorgeous old town of Bergerac and a 1½ hours to the elegant City of Bordeaux.
The house is situated perfectly to sample the gastronomic pleasures of the region and to soak up the history of the many chateaux, historic towns and wine tours (St Emillion - the world heritage site is 50 minutes away).

There are also many interesting and beautiful places for day trips or if you are house-hunting this is an ideal spot from which to explore. Other activities close by include, golf (at one of the best courses in France 20 mins away), fishing, hot air Ballooning July and August, cycling and numerous swimming lakes. There is a water park, bowling alley and karting in Bergerac - 35 minutes away - and the larger Walibi is 1 hour away.

Coast/Beach
There is also a lovely swimming lake with beach and water activities within an easy 20 minute drive. The beach at Arcachon can be reached in just over 1½ hrs by car and is well worth the trip. The Dune du Pyla is a 'must see' if you are going to the coast.

Golf
There are many golf courses around the area. The fantastic Chateau des Vigiers Golf and Country Club, with restaurant and Beauty Spa, is a 20 minute drive away. This top end famous 18 hole course was created by Donald Steel. The Chateau dates back to 1597 and are set in 450 acres of beautiful countryside. Golf de Barthe a lovely 9 hole course is situated in Tombobouef approximately 10 mins drive away. There are also several other courses in the area for you to try.
