We are an English couple who have loved holidaying in France and eventually bought a place here. We have enjoyed the past few years renovating the place and in the process getting to know the area, the people and the experiencing the French way of life. We would now like to share Seguinet for your exclusive holiday in France.
|Year property purchased||2009|
|Why this location?||It is a lovely area of France, beautiful hills and valleys which are enchanting throughout the year.|
|Unique benefits of property||This is an unusual property with a lot of history. It is a really old cottage which was used by the Miller while managing the working mill.
Now restored it overlooks the orchard and the lake.
Best preserved Chateau in this region. www.chateau-bonaguil.com
Another hilltop jewel with views all around. www.semitour.com
An adventure park which caters to all ages. A fun day out for the family.
Beautiful bastide town with a really great square.
Great market for local food and produce. It is on every Thursday morning.
We stayed at Seguinet in the Millers cottage for 2 weeks.
The property is clearly sign posted from the main road and is adjacent to the quiet village of Saint Front sur Lemance.
On arrival at the cottage we were cheerfully greeted by Martyn who showed us around the property; from the moment we stepped in the door it felt like a home from home.
There was a small welcome package of bread, wine, cheese and sweet biscuits.
The plunge pool was larger than we expected and proved to be the highlight for our daughter.
The kitchen was very well equipped and spotlessly clean (as is the rest of the house). There is a dishwasher and a good washing machine, a rotary washing line outside and also a small airer that I used to dry towels and small items..
The sitting area has a very comfortable sofa and a good size dining table. Throughout the property all the furniture is really good quality and it is obvious that Tas has thought a great deal about the decor.
Both bedrooms are spacious and airy with plenty of storage space.
Outside the cottage is a paved terrace with a small charcoal BBQ. There is also a lovely patio area covered by a gazebo and very private.
Throughout our stay Tas and Martyn were on hand if we needed anything, we only had to ask. They are the most gracious hosts always willing to help and answer questions and they made the holiday for us.
I am so glad we stayed at the Millers cottage and we are determined that we will visit Seguinet again very soon.
It was a pleasure having this lovely family stay and we look forward to welcoming them again in the future.
