About this property

Spacious Barn Conversion with Private Pool. This cottage/gite is in a rural setting.

Welcome to Les Hirondelles - a detached, spacious and comfortable barn conversion, ideally situated in the beautiful Lot-et-Garonne for your holiday in South-West France.

Located between Duras and Marmande, from here you can explore the nearby bastide towns and villages with their castles, market squares, river valleys, vineyards and sunflower fields.

Within 5 to 15 minutes drive, you can find markets and shops for your daily needs, bars and restaurants, or outdoor activities such as horse-riding, kayaking, crazy golf and animal parks.

There are atmospheric night markets during the summer season, with a wide choice of food stalls, arts and crafts, local specialities and live entertainment.

Hire some bikes or just bring your walking shoes, to enjoy a selection of marked hiking and cycling routes - one of which passes through the village.

You can even plan a day at the seaside, as Arcachon on the Atlantic coast is only an hour and 45 minutes away, boasting the largest sand dune in Europe.

The beautiful towns of Bergerac and Bordeaux, with their airports, are just 55 and 90 minutes away, whilst the channel ports can be reached in 8 to 10 hours.

Les Hirondelles is very private with views across the open countryside from the terraces and the 10x5m salt-water pool, which is for your exclusive use during your stay.

So whether you prefer an activity-filled holiday or a complete chill-out, you can find it here.

10 / 10 Dart, Such 26 August, 2019

Just returned from this amazing property, ideally located between 2 lovely towns. The owners Matt and Pauline were the perfect hosts although living just next door , we only saw them if WE wanted to know something.
The house was amazingly well equipped, Matt even installed a dart board when we asked if we could bring our own !!
It really is a home from home +++++++
Thoroughly recommend the property, we were a party of 6 adults and a 16 month old and the house was perfect for all

Beautiful place in lovely surroundings. We had two glorious weeks and were sad it had to come to an end.

Owner response

Thank you Mary. It was a pleasure to welcome you and you family and we hope to do so again some time. Very best wishes, Matt & Pauline.

This was our first family holiday in a while all together. The kiddies loved it we barely left the place because it was so accommodating. The house and facilities are gorgeous and very well maintained. Both myself and my daughter enjoyed cooking there,we all had a go the kitchen is very well equipped and the house is suitable for every occasion. We made full use of the activities provided the area has a lot going for it. With local sites and markets to visit we recommend the Dunes take a picnic and sit and watch the sunset. Beautiful sites to see, we will definitely be going back. Thank you to Pauline and Matt your home is a beautiful haven and has such a good feel about it we will be talking about this holiday in years to come I have hundreds of photos and videos to keep the memory alive until next time xxx
