We moved to France in 2013 and promptly started renovating Labarthe early 2014. Eight months later we were ready to receive our first guests and haven't looked back.

|Why this location?||Having spent many years on holiday in France we were introduced to and fell in love with the Duras area 10 years ago. With the climate and scenery along with the tranquillity, words we've heard many times by our guests, their was no question where we wanted to live should we be fortunate enough to make the move.
Duras has all the amenities needed, supermarket, vets, doctors, three bars (cafés) three restaurants, three bakers, two banks..etc.
Duras is serviced by two airports, Bordeaux is 1.15hrs and Bergerac 45 minutes.
The ferry ports are within seven hours of Duras which makes the journey doable without an overnight stopover, this we felt was very important for our holidaymakers.
From June 2017, the TGV from Paris will take just over two hours to Bordeaux, another travel option.
|Unique benefits of property||Total renovation in 2014, Labarthe gite now has two ensuite bedrooms, private terrace by pool with magnificent views across the valley. Duras is just 3km.|

A week of house hunting and stayed in Labarthe's Gite. Excellent house hunting and excellent accommodation , kitchen fully equipped, very generous welcome food and wine pack, beds surperb, shame it was warm enough (early March) to have a swim. All in all a great week.
Thank you for your review, very much appreciated
We had a very lovely stay at this Gite for one week. It was one of the best we have ever stayed at in France. Everything you could ever want is in the Gite, the welcome pack was great - including some nice local wine, and the owners were etremely helpful and friendly. The pool was most welcome on those hot summer days. The views from the Gite are lovely. There are some great markets and vineyards in the area, as well as plenty for families to do. Great location for a relaxing holiday as well. Would highly recommend this Gite.
We ar deigthed that you all enjoyed your holiday and delighted at such a lovely review.
Thank you all so much.
The property is well-cared for by the owners. It has everything you would need. I have stayed at several sites in France and this is probably the best. The VfM was good and location beautiful. Clean and well equipped. The owners could do enough to ensure our stay was memorable.
I would recommend this gite to anyone.
