John & Emma have been in Catering all their lives. John a former sommelier of the year and Emma working with some of the Great chefs in the UK. Together we ran a very successful restaurant for 15 years and moved here in 2016. We have gathered and combined our vast experience in the hospitality industry and created a holiday gite that we would enjoy for our own holiday, charmingly French, totally relaxing, informative, a little rustic, very comfortable and affordable with surprises of luxury.

|Why this location?||The idea of spending a morning at a local market or sampling some wine at a nearby vineyard. Followed by an afternoon by the pool and supper watching the sunset was a dream we could not resist. The area is one of the best in France for our passions, food and wine. The quality of the produce: truffles, strawberries, plums prunes, melons, figs, pork, beef, duck, foie gras, the list goes on. This combined with some of Frances best markets and the abundance and diversity of some of the best known and least known wine regions in France. Places to explore, new sights to see, a simpler life and the glorious weather were too much for us to ignore.|

Beautiful Bastide Town
We have just returned from a wonderful visit to ‘Les Caulins’ owned by lovely hosts, John and Emma a respected wine Sommelier and an exceptional culinary Chef.
Their house is beautiful, restored tastefully and sympathetic to the ‘French Experience’. There are three king-size bedrooms each with a modern bathroom with generous walk-in showers. There is a large salon, with a comfortable lounge, and a kitchen fitted with modern appliances.
Attached to the property is a large covered terrace, beautiful to enjoy a few glasses of wine and eat dinner as the sun goes down. There is also a lovely pool for guests to enjoy.
The area around Les Caulins is simply stunning, a mix of vines, fruit trees and agriculture. Country roads weave their way to a number of French hamlets and stunning bastide towns filled with Artisan shops. There are also many local French markets selling a wide variety of fresh local produce.
The holiday was made so special due to John & Emma. Both fun, warm, open people with an immense knowledge of food and wine. We enjoyed their enthusiasm to share things they have learnt in their areas of expertise. We were ‘spoiled’ daily with amazing cuisine cooked by Emma, accompanied by wonderful local pairing wines from John.
We can’t recommend 'Les Caulins' highly enough - if you are looking for a relaxing week in beautiful French countryside with exceptional food and wines then look no further. We have already booked for next year!
