You take your own plates and cutlery and purchase cooked food and wine from the various vendors there. A number of night markets also have live music. They generally start around 6.30 to 7.00pm. Arrive early as they get very busy!
They don't all start and end on the same dates, so please ask us for more details.

Levignac de Guyenne
Sauvetat du Dropt

Canoeing along the Dordogne Valley, known as the valley of the castles.
You can choose from different distances, 7km, 14km or 28km. You are bussed to the start point and canoe down the river at your own pace back to your car. There are many different providers at different locations who normally only require 24 hours reservation notice. We can advise and recommend something suitable.

The whole area is a cyclists dream, with quiet roads and fantastic architecture to discover. The Tourist Board have produced a number of researched cycle routes graded on distance and difficulty.

There are several courses in the area, from the luxury Chateau des Vigiers at Monestier, the excellent Golf de Bathe at Tombeboeuf and the very relaxed Golf de Boissec at Sauvetat.

Vineyard Tours / Wine Tasting

La Petite Grand Pierre is situated on its own private wine estate and we offer personalised vineyard tours / tastings to all our guests during their stay with us.
In addition, the wine areas of Bordeaux, Bergerac, Monbazillac, St. Emillion, Sauternes, Graves and many others are within easy reach of Grand Pierre.

Beaches and Surf

The Atlantic coast, named Cote d'Argent (Silver Coast) is situated 2 hours to the west of Grand Pierre with the bustling town of Arcachon being one of the most well known. The nearby Dune de Pilat, the biggest sand dune in Europe, is nearby and well worth a visit. The climb to the top is not too energy sapping but well worth it for the spectacular views towards Cap Ferret.

There are many great beaches to be found leading south to Biscarrosse. All are under surveillance, suitable for the little ones as well as those looking to try surfing or body boarding. All offer excellent parking facilities and picnic areas.
