Lauzun is good to visit at anytime of the year. But in the spring and summertime the countryside becomes a hive of activity, covered in new, lush greenery and colourful blossoms and sunflowers, as temperatures rise to an average of around 30°C.

Lauzun is situated in Lot et Garonne and is known as 'A Picturesque Village in France'. It is a small, quiet town where life is slow and the atmosphere blissfully relaxing.

Fleur De Lys House is the perfect base you to explore this beautiful area of France. But if you just want to stay put and relax, Lauzun has all the basic needs, 2 x restaurants, a small supermarket, a bar/ newsagent, boulangerie, butchers a pharmacy, post office and a bank, plus a Saturday market with local produce and all on your doorstep.

The town is steeped in history and architecturally interesting 12th and 13th century buildings. The first thing that stirs your imagination when you arrive is the impressive Chateau which rises above the town. Build in the 14th Century, the chateau is well worth visiting and is just a short stroll away. As is the church, the bells of which call out over the town each day. Another short stroll takes you to the picturesque lake which has a bridge, numerous trees and picnic tables, ideal for an alfresco lunch.

Every Saturday evening during July & August there is the Table Gourmande (street dining) in the village serving local food and wine, along with local music, a fabulous evening on your doorstep

Most guests fly and hire a car but you can drive here from all over Europe.

About the Owner/Advertiser, Mrs Sandra Moody

We Moved to France in 1999. Together we bought an old run down farm in Brittany with lots of buildings.
After much discussion it was decided to renovate them into 4 gites.
We run them successfully until 2013 when we sold up and retired. We bought the house in Lauzun as our retirement home in the sun.
Recently we bought ourselves a boat so our summers will now be spent sailing, hence the renting our lovely home.
Fleur de Lys house is a genuine home from home not a full time rental property.

Year property purchased 2012
Why this location? We bought in Lauzun because of the sun, the numerous vineyards, the historic Bastide towns and the nearness of larger cities like Bordeaux.
Unique benefits of property Fleur de Lys house is situated in the centre of this vibrant town. Across the road from the square and within walking distance of the bar, the two restaurants, supermarket, butchers, bakers, tourist office, bank, hairdressers and chemist.
