About the Owner/Advertiser, Mr Ronald Davies

June and I have been retired to France for the past 3 years. Before that we lived in Hong Kong. I worked for an airline and June held a teaching position.

Year property purchased 2013
Why this location? Friendly people. Great wine and food..duck and Foie Gras. Surrounded by rolling hills with plenty of walking or cycling but also having the convience of Villereal with all the amenties which is 3kms away. In the winter months Villereal is not as sleepy as most french towns, we have Opera HD from Metropolitan Opera House in New York. English cinema close by. Plus most of the cafés stay open in the winter months.
Unique benefits of property The property is a complete new build which has been built in traditional style. It is cool in the summer and warm in the winter months. There is a wood burner as well as central heating for the winter months to make the a cosy atmosphere. The house is located next to the owner so if there is any problems they can be solved quickly. June is an excellent cook and can always cook for you at an extra charge.

Not to be missed!
Villereal traditional morning market on a Saturday

Issigeac day market on a Sunday is a bit touristy but worth a visit.

Restaurants in Villereal are very good particularly The Marronniers

Restaruants in Issigeac that are recommended are the Ancient Gare and Bruceliere

Night Food Markets are widespread in towns and villages in the area during the summer with our favourites at Villereal and Montaut. All family orientated and traditionally french. All with live music.

Canoeing on the Lot or the Dordogne. As we border between the Lot and the Dordogne we have easy access to enjoy some of the wonderful chateaux and castles that remain as testaments to the 100 years War.
