About the Owner/Advertiser, Mrs Sarah Wigmore

We arrived here on the 24 July 2017, after several long months of buying and selling. We lived and worked in Devon, England for 30 years. Paul was a secondary school teacher and Sarah worked for a Housing Association. We have two daughters and a grandson all living in Devon. <br/> We have always loved this part of South West France and often visited with our two daughters and dreamed of moving here. Domaine de France is the perfect place to enjoy all SW France has.

Why this location? Penne d'Agenais is one of the most picturesque bastide villages in the region, boasting restaurants and cafes as well as craft businesses, such as pottery and art studios.

The village is home to the impressive Basilica, Notre Dame de Peyragude, which overlooks the village and the River Lot.

Motor boats and canoes/ kayaks are available for hire from Port de Penne and there are plenty of marked popular walks to follow in the countryside around Penne.

Described as the “Tuscany” of France, Lot et Garonne in Aquitaine is a department famous for its countryside with orchards and vineyards, farms, oak forests and quaint medieval ”bastide” villages. Penne overlooks the River Lot, and because of this perfect defensive position, the village in the past was strategically important. The area is rich in sites of historical interest most of which date from the period of French-English rivalry in the 13th Century.
Unique benefits of property Welcome to Domaine de France. The property comprises a restored 'Maison de Maitre,' a converted Quercy stone barn housing the gîtes and outbuildings set in 9 acres on the edge of the medieval village of Penne d'Agenais, Lot Valley, Lot et Garonne.

The holiday accommodation has 3 spacious gites in the restored barn and an 11 x 5 metre salt swimming pool.
Belle Vue is a 2 bedroom Gite that sleeps 5 people with fully equipped kitchen including dishwasher, living room, separate Garden and private terrace.
There is a communal gamesroom and about 9 acres of park land, where you can see several types of birds, red squirrels and on occasion a hare and perhaps a deer.

It is a short walk to a water park that is ideal for younger children to cool off, which includes a handy place to eat.

There is also a fishing lake where it is also possible to have lessons.

It is possible to book all the gites at the same time, accommodating a maximum of 14 people.

From the moment we arrived we felt like we were at home. Paul and Sarah couldn’t have been better hosts.

The gites are incredibly comfortable, well equipped, spotlessly clean and we couldn’t have asked for more. There was a selection of local supplies for us waiting on the dining room table when we arrived which was a lovely touch, especially the wine!

Paul and Sarah were always on hand with recommendations and to make sure we didn’t need anything without ever being imposing.

The pool area was very clean and in a perfect setting. Paul gave us instructions on how to use the pool area so we were able to use it whenever we wanted including to let the children have a late night swim with the pool lights on.

The games room was well equipped which kept our children amused on an evening (they are 11 & 15).

Barbecues are available for anyone to use on an evening, either outside you own gite or in the lovely veranda area.

The surrounding area has loads to do and Penne d’Agenais is a short walk away. Domain de France is situated in lovely grounds which everyone was encouraged to explore and make themselves at home in.

I would recommend anyone to stay here, we didn’t want to leave!!!
