|Why this location?||The house is secluded, yet quite close to the village. The area is quiet with little traffic, but there are plenty of lovely places to visit nearby.|
|Unique benefits of property||Meydieu is our home from home. We spend about three months a year living at Meydieu, so we make sure the house has everything needed for a comfortable stay. It's a great place to chill out with nobody around to bother you.|
The beach at Lac de Lougratte is about 8km away and is open from the middle of June until the end of August. The water is safe for swimming and there is a lifeguard in attendance. Activities include paddle boats and a playground. There is also a snack bar and picnic area.
The closest canoeing is at Casseneuil on the river Lot. Canoes can also be hired at Puy L'Evêque.
The are a number of places a little further afield on the Dordogne too.
There are a number of well known vineyards around Bergerac and Duras, but one of our favourites is the little know producer Le domaine Lou Gaillot at Casseneuil. The walk round the vineyard is especially interesting for children as there are notice boards around the vineyard explaining the process. It only takes about half an hour, and of course you are welcome to taste and buy wine. I particularly like their white wine "Elegance" http://lougaillot.com/
We have just had a wonderful 3 weeks at Meydieu. The house is the most comfortable we have ever stayed at, spotlessly clean and very well equipped. It is in a beautiful area, quiet, peaceful and surrounded by lovely French countryside. The heated pool and garden are well maintained and the English couple, who look after the house, are most helpful with ideas of places to visit etc. The owner has gone out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed for a perfect holiday. We will certainly be back again and cannot recommend Meydieu highly enough.
