Charming farmhouse set in a rural setting.
La Fon Rouge is the main house on the site. The site comprises of 3 properties; the main house and 2 smaller gites. The properties are built in the traditional stone, popular in the Lot and Dordogne regions.
The farmhouse has 5 twin or double bedrooms, with one downstairs, which is great for guests with limited mobility. There are 2 good sized bathrooms, one downstairs and toilets on both levels.
There is a fabulous open plan lounge area with a spiral staircase leading to the first floor, incorporating an open fire for those guests staying in the winter months.
Outside is a covered terrace and a table big enough to sit all the guests for great family gatherings. There's also a built in bbq which is a real focal point for family meals and gatherings, and of course the pool for fun and games in the summer!
The kitchen/dining area is open plan, and also open to the lunge area.
There is a fridge with small freezer compartment, a 4 ring electric hob and an electric oven. Cutlery, crockery, pot and pans are all provided for your stay.
The dining area has a large table with chairs and benches around to seat 12 people.
The lounge area has an 'L' shaped sofa, which also can be turned into a bed if required. There's a separate sofa and also a small table and chairs.
A large, flatscreen tv is provided, which receives UK free to view channels. A dvd player is available and a small selection of dvds for guests to use.

There is oil fired central heating to all areas, plus a wood burning stove in the kitchen and an open fire in the lounge.
Heating is included in the rental charges.
Wi-fi is provided, but guests need to be aware that this is 'rural' France and speeds are not as fast as we may be used to at home. The connection is fine for emails and light web use, but not for streaming.
The house is set in substantial grounds which guests are welcome to wander around, and use how they wish. The entire site comprises of around 2.4 hectares in total. There are 2 fields, which have paths cut all year so guests can walk around the property and get some exercise and take in the views - the top field has great views over the valley and towards Monflanquin.
And of course, there is the pool! The pool is shared with the 2 gites on site and is nearest to the farmhouse. It is 10x5m and offers more than enough space for guests to play or get some lengths in. It is a saline based pool, which means the cleaning is carried out by a sand based filter and the saline solution is converted to chlorine, which is less intense that adding chemicals on a daily basis.
There is plenty of space for guests car parking. There is a courtyard area where guests can unload and designated areas to keep vehicles away from the properties during the stay.
La Fon Rouge is ideal for groups of people who want to get away and stay together in a beautiful relaxing, rural location.
It's ideal for family groups, offering something for all age groups.
The house is owned by 2 families; the Lucketts and the Haywards. We purchased the property in 2008 so we could have somewhere quiet to take our children during the school holidays.

|Why this location?||We chose the Lot region as it offered superb rural locations, with traditional, relatively unspoilt, French villages to visit whilst staying. It's also a little further South so benefits from slightly warmer temperatures most of the year.|
