Luxury is quite a personal taste thing but for the majority of us spacious accommodation with a similar feel outside is a very very good start.
The accommodation is perfect for a couple wanting a romantic getaway or two couples wanting a restful hideaway to retire to after sampling the delights of this area of France or friends holidaying together.
Whatever your needs our spacious, tastefully furnished, fully equipped private single storey accommodation with private pool is intended to delight.
Astruc consists of only two properties, originally one farm, and they enjoy unfettered views of the beautiful rolling hills and fields of the Lot Valley.
The accommodation is centred around the L shaped open plan lounge, kitchen, dining room. This provides a huge area of approximately 60m2 where you and your party can be together yet still have a bit of your own space.
If even this is not spacious enough it opens onto the substantial travertine terrace for your al fresco dining and bbq masterpieces.
If you are the one preparing the meal you can do so whilst chatting away to your party or just enjoying the view through the triple windows across the terrace and pool and on to the fields and on further across the valleys.
The kitchen is equipped with a large fridge freezer, full sized multi function fan cooker, dishwasher, microwave, electric kettle, four slice toaster and a coffee maker
To one end of the room is the lounge area equipped with tv and dvd two comfy settees and two hardwood coffee tables.
At the other end of the L is the dining area which is almost 15 sqm and provides 6 comfy dining room chairs and a full sized dining table. Further storage is provided in the hardwood sideboard.
Whilst there are only beds for a maximum of 4 we have equipped for 6 persons so that you can entertain if you wish.
Directly from the lounge area you will find the master bedroom which is over 23 sqm and very spacious. The furniture is substantial and not the flimsy bed and unsupportive mattress you may have been unlucky enough to encounter elsewhere.
The solid wardrobe and large chest of drawers provide more that enough storage for a week or two of clothes.
On the bed you will find crisp clean linen and towels for use both in the en-suite and around the pool.
Off the bedroom is the full en suite bathroom which is 12 sqm. It is equipped with a walk/roll in shower, full sized bath with hair washing attachment, wc and a hand basin with cupboards under.
At the other end of the L, off the dining area, is the second bedroom which at 19 sqm is just a little smaller than bedroom 1 but still very spacious.
Again the furniture is substantial and well made providing adequate storage.
On the bed you will find crisp clean linen and towels for use both in the en-suite and around the pool.
Off the bedroom is the en-suite shower room which is 6 sqm. It is equipped with a walk/roll in shower, wc and a hand basin with cupboards under.
From the lounge area triple doors open onto the huge travertine terrace. Here you will find a large table and padded chairs to cater for your al fresco dining. A gas bbq (the gas is provided free) with utensils.
To complement this is the private swimming pool with sun loungers and a number of parasols to provide that vital shade on those hot summer days.
The terrace and pool area is separated from the rest of the property by a stone wall topped with a fence in such a way as to provide privacy without detracting from the superb near and distant views that you can enjoy from the table, bbq, sun loungers and even the pool itself.
The accommodation is presented in good decorative order, properly cleaned and well furnished affording comfort, space and hopefully all you will need for that perfect holiday.

|Year property purchased||2016|
|Why this location?||Astruc consists of only two neighbouring properties, originally one farm, and both enjoy unfettered views of the beautiful rolling hills and fields of the Lot Valley.
From the moment we stepped onto the property to view it for the first time we fell in love with it, the tranquility and outstanding views.
All who visit express similar feelings and fully enjoy their experience here.
Add to this ready access to Monflanquin, Villeneuve-sur-Lot and numerous other Bastides and a mere 50 minutes drive from Bergerac one of our favourite Dordogne Towns.
Rolling hills, stunning views around so many corners and the navigable rivers of the Dordogne, Lot and Garonne within a short drive.
The icing on the cake are probably the long hot summers, outstanding local produce and wines a plenty.
|Unique benefits of property||Luxury is quite a personal taste thing but for the majority of us spacious accommodation with a similar feel outside is a very very good start.
The accommodation is perfect for a couple wanting a romantic getaway or two couples wanting a restful hideaway to retire to after sampling the delights of this area of France (like lunch in Monpazier as we are in our photo) or friends holidaying together.
Whatever your needs our spacious, tastefully furnished, fully equipped private single storey accommodation is intended to delight.
Sérénité is so named because the location is so peaceful and private.
If you like to:-
Sit and stare without a care, then this is the place to be;
At night in an absence of light, come see what you can see;
Take an occasional sip or a cooling dip, then the private pool is for you.
Flora and fauna abound and wether you prefer mammals or our feathered friends you may get to see a rarity or two.
Sérénité is surrounded by an abundance of interesting places. Bastides are in every direction such as Monflanquin, Monpazier, Villereal, Villeneuve-sur-Lot and Penne D'Agenais,
The capital of the Lot et Garonne (Agen) is approximately an hour's drive away.
Similarly if you like to be on a river then our area is blessed with three of France's greatest.
The Dordogne is closest at Bergerac to the North, The Lot can be accessed at Port D'Agenais and Villeneuve Sur Lot to the south and the Garonne is only a little further south.
Unlike many holiday destinations in France the majority of the Restaurants in our area remain open throughout the year.
As personal tastes and pockets vary considerably we hesitate to suggest one restaurant over another and whilst we are doing what we can we have not as yet eaten in all of them.
During the week you can enjoy a three course menu de jour with wine for 15€ or dinner in a Michelin starred establishment for considerably more.
As always in France lunch is the time for good value meals and you will sample more traditional fare into the bargain.
Lunch is our favourite time to eat out and there are numerous places to sit outside and watch the world go by with a glass of something suitable in your hand whilst you wait for your next course.
If you are visiting during the quite or cooler months then you may prefer a large log fire and a cosy environment.
Chateaux such as Biron and Bonaguil are close but there are literally dozens in the Lot et Garonne to visit or just admire in passing.
Of course if you want to sample some famous wines and not just admire the architecture then you may prefer somewhere like Monbazillac which is world famous for good reason.
Just over an hour away is the Chateaux of Duras which is definitely worth a visit.
Until quite recently it was a ruin. Then the Commune bought it and begun the lengthy process of restoring it.
It is a real demonstration of what a small community can do when it works together. If you are brave/fit enough to reach the top there are some absolutely stunning views so try to visit on a clear day.
Before you leave ask someone to point you in the direction of Maison Guinguet (a local Chocolate Factory) and treat yourself. A local delicacy, Prunes in Armagnac, may even cure what ails you.
If you like to visit markets then you will be spoilt for choice.
Should you so wish you can visit a local market every day of the week including Sunday. There is a full list including dates in Sérénité.
In addition there are numerous irregular markets each month which vary from Vide Greniers to specialist car parts or even what are in effect portable wine tasting events.
During the summer most of the local villages and towns have a night market which is a great way to sample local foods, eat with local people and often enjoy some live entertainment.
This is not normally something that you would expect to be included in someones recommendations but the mini golf at Le Stelsia is a notable exception.
This is reputed to be the largest mini golf (crazy golf) course in Europe covering 4,700 Sq M.
When non golfing ladies come back extolling the place you have to take note.
The gardens in which the holes are laid out are themselves exceptional and the grounds of the hotel are more like a well kept park. Being a hotel you can also enjoy a pre round refreshment and the more well known tradition of the 19th hole.
The hotel is only a twenty minute drive or so away and well worth a visit even if you decide not to overtax yourself with a round.
